Water leaks out at the bottom of the front, just below the door

If you can remove top from machine and then fill you may be able to see leak. Some times although it appears to be leaking below the door this is not always so as the water will build up inside the casing and give you the idea that the leak is there. Sometimes to find a leak it is nessessary to put washing into machine, with the back and top off to find the exact place, as a leak is not always easy to find. If you need to go to this stage then take extra care that you do not touch any parts, as I have seen people forget that electricity is not very friendly, also moving parts will start up at any time. Good luck I hope this information will help you.

My clothes don't always spin out. have to put through spin cycle several times. It doesnt happen all the time. Im figuring its the V belt what do you think

Yes the vbelt (part# 27001007 )could be worn, as could the idler roller (#40045001 ) , and arm (#27001028).
However if you find traces of oil as in motor oil your gearbox/transmission is leaking and you may as well start searching for a new unit as the transmission is around $230 and not a quick/easy chore to change..
best of luck, have fun,
ttfn

Duet whirlpool washer mysteriously floods the floor when we are gone. It happens when door is closed or open. Even when empty and off. 4 times now!

I had the same problem, found it at about 2 am. No fun. Pretty easy fix. The part on the back of the washer where you screw in the water lines in needs replaced. Its been 2 years but I think it only took about 30 mins to fix once I had the part. Remove the top of the washer (couple screws in back) The part that the hoses screw into has a wire that goes to it that opens/closes the vaule when it needs water, its not closing all the way and water is continuing to fill. Good luck, think the part was about $50 or so. I would shut off the water at the wall in between washings until its fixed, and when on vacation. The hoses always have water in them if the. good luck

Ultimate care II 3 buttons on top

Called my repair guy, who is always helpful. He told me if it wasn't the motor coupler it was the transmission. He said he could rebuild it for around 80-150$, in my opinoin he is a good honest person, never does me or the many people I know any wrong. He said their was no telling how long it would last. I have a family of 5, the washer is almost 10. I went out and bought a new one. My parts guy recomended I buy the same brand Whirlpool, with a direct drive motor. I took his advice and got a new one with the same type of motor. I stripped down the old one, kept the motor, dog ears, motor coupler, and the water pump. Hopefully those parts will save me some money. The dog ears and motor coupler, I just replaced them within the last couple weeks. My parts guy always says "lighten up them loads" and it is good advice as I always replace dog ears every 6 mos. But at 8$ a pair it's an easy fix. Having a reliable parts man, who explains how to fix everthing- PRICELESS. Anybody in SE Michigan should stop by Richard Bros. Appliance in Riverview, MI, they do service calls as well. Thanks-Scott

F 06 error code

The "F06" error code is a Motor Speed error. The following link explains the recommended course of action you should take:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

Now, another tip to try BEFORE you assume you have any failed parts is to unplug the washer for at least 30 minutes. This is recommended by the manufacturer to reset the main computer (or CCU). Sometimes this tip will reset most common system errors. If the problems persists, I would recommend checking the wiring harness between the Motor Control Unit (MCU) and the Drive Motor, followed by resistance checks of the motor windings. You may have a loose connector somewhere (as you suggested) or a component beginning to fail after it heats up (hence, the reason why the washer works for a while, then sometimes fails). Intermittent problems aren't always easy to troubleshoot. If your symptoms keep reocurring, take note of when and how (i.e., after several loads, during heavy loads, during final spin, etc.). This will give me an idea of what may be causing any repeated error codes. I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

F & P EcoSmart top loaders have a diverter or "Y" valve in the pump discharge. This valve directs pumped water out of the machine tub (when the valve solenoid is deenergized; this solenoid operates very slowly, BTW). Conversely, when energized, the valve directs water into the top of the tub (during wash cycle, for example). If no water flows (either way) when the machine is operating, the problem lies with the pump or its conroller*.

If water is not pumping out of the tub (preceding the spin part of the cycle) -- you might notice that the machine beeps -- but continues to pour in at the top of the tub (you can hear the water recirculating), the problem likely lies with the diverter valve being obstructed (easy fix -- clean it), the solenoid is not working (less likely to be the problem, but possible) or the controller* is faulty (more likely).

To remove water from the tub, you can either bail it out or deenergize the solenoid. To accomplish the latter, you can remove the control panel shroud assy, (remove two sheet-metal screws), lay the shroud aside and you'll see the controller* situated beneath the push-button panel. Look for a pair of wires with a connector lying loosely on top of, and running across the controller* -- one of the wires is likely orange. unplugging that connector disconnects power to the solenoid and causes the valve to return to its normal position (that is, it is positioned to send the water out of the tub and into your house drain pipe in back of the machine).

You access the pump and diverter valve (I'm basing this on model GLW 10) from the underside of the machine. The washer will have a quart or more of water in it, so take it where you don't mind spilled tub water, turn the machine over so that the machine's front is on a braod cushion or foam pad on the ground/floor. Looking into the bottom end, tyou'll see the pump at about 7 o'clock and the diverter just above (at ~8 o'clock). The big circular thing in the middle is the DC motor. Have fun.
