C355Bee and C162 Problems

Used to have C355BEE, but it broke twice without any apparent reason. Would not turn green, maintained at amber. Dealer suggested to upgrade to C272/C162 combo. Played sweet music for 12 hours straight, turned off the system, following morning, same problem with the C355BEE... the LED's would not turn green anymore, maintained at amber... please help

In addition to the above, the C272 power amp is still good, all LED's turn from amber to green. My C542 player also is good, no problem whatsoever. That's why i tend to rule out power supply issues.

It seems the problem with the C355BEE integrated amp is also with the pre-amp part, based on the same symptoms i got with the C162.

Get your money back. I had similar problems with new NAD purchases a year or so back. NAD has had all sorts of repair issues.
I'll never buy anything from them again.

check for corrosion or dirt around the screws that hold that board in place. the screws provide ground at several different places on the pcb that are not otherwise connected. good luck

Nad c355bee

Check to see if it works with headphones. If it doesn't then you might have a main power amp failure.

My C355Bee amplifier will not switch on. The power light stays on orange and won't switch to green.

This is usually called "protect mode". See the link below for an explanation. If the unit remains in this condition even after disconnecting all speaker wires, it likely will require service. Please update this if you need further information.

Thanks,
Dan

Cant get no sound from my Nad C162 pre amp connected to my C272 power amp , and ideas please?

First prove if it's a preamp problem or an amp problem. Plug one of your sources directly into the amp for a moment and play something VERY LOW in volume. If the amp is ok it will play VERY LOUDLY.

If so, look at the preamp and make sure it's not muted or a tape is selected.

Hi, I have a NAD C162 Pre-Amp which I am using with a NAD C270 Poer Amp. Th problem is that the Pre-Amp doesn't seem to be driving the Power-Amp efficiently. By this I mean i need to turn the gain up...

Hello, I have an idea:
at the rear side of the NAD preamp there is a switch, it can be in mode MM or MC . Please check it whether it is in right position or not.

Good luck,
gylacz
