Just check all your fuses with a test light because even if the fuse doesn't look like its blown it might be. also check wires behind the stereo

Installing a car stereo on a 2008 dodge charger rt there is no power

  1. Check the wiring: Make sure that all the wires are properly connected to the stereo and to the car's electrical system. Look for loose, disconnected, or damaged wires and repair or replace them if necessary.
  2. Check the fuse: The car stereo may not be receiving power if the fuse that protects it has blown. Check the fuse panel in the car and replace any blown fuses.
  3. Check the battery: If the battery is dead, the car stereo won't receive power. Charge or replace the battery if needed.
  4. Check the ground wire: The ground wire is essential for the proper functioning of the car stereo. Make sure it's properly connected to a clean, unpainted metal surface in the car.
  5. Check the wiring harness: If the wiring harness is damaged or not properly connected, it may prevent the car stereo from receiving power. Replace the wiring harness if necessary.

I have a 1991 Lincoln Town car and I hooked up a stereo system an all at once my locks Windows stereo and air ride have went out I was wondering if you could give me a step by step on how to fix this

Could be to late. Could have blow the BCM. Unhook the radio and see if the other things start working. If they do, your lucky. Then find some to hook up the radio. I can install radios, but I use a volt /ohm meter. You can not trust the diagrams the radios come with. Or the diagrams I buy.

I bought a used Luxman Stereo Receiver r113 and now my one Cerwin Vega speaker is crackling and distorted after 10 minutes of playing for the first time

As it's a stereo receiver and you specify one CV speaker, hook the speaker to the other side of the receiver and see if it still has the same problem. If so, hook it to any other audio source you may have. If it has a problem on only one side of the receiver, the receiver has a blown channel. If the speaker distorts on both sides of the receiver and on a separate audio source, the speaker is blown.

Car stereo not receiving power.

Sound system w/o amplifier. Not only check the fuses, check the fuse circuit for voltage, use a test lite. As you can see, one fuse is hot all the time, the other fuse goes hot with the key on. Also check ground wire, that wire color is black.

I was hooking up a stero in my 2000 cadillic deville when a spark occured now the system is completely dead

Afternoon, the stereo has a fuse, which has blown. They are usually found on the positive side of the wire for the main power to stereo , if not that one, it is the fuse inside it. The ones I have fixed are very tiny, not standard size. Next time, disconnect the battery or put tape over the ends of the wires. good luck. You are not the first to do this and you certainly will not be the last so do not feel too bad. (Australia)

I had a friend install a radio for me. Now the interior lights do not work. Electric locks no longer work. Speedometer needle goes crazy when I put the key in the ignition. All fuses inside and outside are...

ok, most likely he hooked up the power to the wrong place or worse disconnected an important ground connection. the fuses will not blow because current is probably being redirected to other circuits. try to remove the radio and its connections and recheck for anything that got loose or removed especially ground connections. get a wiring diagram for your car and hook up power to the accessory circuit and make sure that it is protected by a fuse. again ground wires and connections are very important. problems here can cause a lot of weird symptoms.

Autozone said the OBD2 connector.. or DLC.. whatever it's called, is not getting power to it when he tried plugging the tool in to see why my check engine light is on. He had asked if I hooked up a stereo...

Used a test light with key on, if no light at test light on both proms on fuse, remove and check blown fuse, also some may not have voltage, turn head light's on, could be head light fuse, should come on with light's on, but it's best to just pull fuse and check to make sure it's good or bad, lighter fuse does power your OBD2.

Speedometer gauge/climate control lights dont work

Look for a dimmer wire,, sounds like your radio dont have the option for the car dimmer switch,,

the power for these lights run through the dimmer wire for the radio. ether its not hooked up or the radio dont have the option for it.

there is a way to bypass the radio dimmer option,, BUT you have to know what your doing or you could fry something.

look for Car Radio Illumination/dimmer Wire: should be Green.
