Fedders A3X06F2G window air conditioner fan does not spin

I have a fedders A3X06F2G window air conditioner that I have had for 2 years. The motor will turn on and the compressor kicks in, but the fan will not spin. I took off the cover and it is difficult to spin the fan. Any suggestions?

Fan motor is stuck or defective it might need replacement. Check for broken fan blades or obstruction.

Compressor comes on, some cold air, no fan?

Try spinning fan by hand. If it spins freely, change capacitor. If fan is tight, change fan motor.

My Fedders air conditioner, that I purchased approximately 3 years ago, has developed a fan motor bearing problem. I would like a technician to come to my home, and repair the problem. Is this possible?

If this is a window air conditioner, an option is to remove from window and take to appliance repair shop for evaluation. It can also be repaired
at your home but is generally more expensive. In both cases, it is best
to have model and serial number available just in case still under
extended warranty.

Won't "kick" on

need a little clarification but will try to answer....if the fan is not spinning or no air is coming out, then try taking off the front cover and spinning the fan by hand (With unit unplugged). it should spin freely and not feel rough or stop suddenly. if so the fan motor is bad. now if the fan motor works but the air does not cool then the compressor is not turning on in which case either 1. you are too low on freon (leak), 2. the compressor has gone bad, or 3. there is a wiring problem or bad run capacitor. i find it odd that this would happen to 2 units over the same storage period, any out-of-the ordinary environmental situations there? water damage? it could simply be a wiring short also.

Need to replace seized fan motor

Fan motor has nothing to do with the refrigerant portion.

Fan won't come on.

First shut the power off then pull the blower out and try to spin the wheel if it spins freely then check the capacitor look for any swelling or dents and unless you know how to check it out, some AC parts stores may check it for you, but a lot of people just replace it first before the motor (it costs less usually around $5.00) if it's ok then the motor is probably bad and would need to be replaced.
