Check and see if maybe you got something stuck in the headphone jack. thats normally the problem but sometimes the headphone jack does go out it and it can be replaces at the apple store for like 50 bucks. but im almost willing to bet that there is just something stuck up there. use like a toothpick or something to clean it out.

My apple iPod nano 5th gen wont play music through the headphones right. It only plays through the internal speaker even with the headphones in. I can hear it through the headphones a little but it is...

take the headphones out play the music full volume then put the headphones in and lower the music all the way down then your volume will be normal and it will only play in through the head phones unless you take headphones out then it will play through speakers

Plug in connection problem for headphone or speakers

It can be because the connector on a mp3-player, or in this case the ipod touch, does not deliver enough power in Watt's to bring the music over to the larger headphones or speaker(s).

With kind regards,

Can i listen to my ipod threw the theater sound system

your home theater has a AUX phono plug in the back
you need to buy or make a cable that looks like this

to buy
3.5mm headphone jack>>>>> phonojack
if that cable has only one phono jack on the other side then you also need this
one phonojack>>>>>two phono jacks
this is needed because if you kept it as one jack then only one side will play music

if you make it then
3.5mm headphone jack>>>>>> two phono jacks

For some reason my ipod touch won't play when I plug it into my stereo. It is playing out of the ipod itself. How do I turn this off.

Hello.
This is a very common problem, you may have to get a different jack that works with the headset jack thats on the iPod. iPhones and iPods have a weird style jack on the top that wont allow most headphone or 3.0mm to 3.0mm jacks to go fully inside the jack causing it so there is not connection with the jack itself in the iPod. You can check this by turning the volume up and down using the rocker buttons on the side while you are at the home screen with no music playing and see if it says speaker or headphones when your turn the volume up and down. Speaker means there is no jack connection, headphone means that there should be music playing through the stereo. Thats using the jack.
If your talking about an iHome or other direct plug in stereo specifically for the iPods and iPhones, make sure that the dock is the correct dock for the iPod, and make sure that it is pressed fully down onto the dock. If all that is correct there should be no problem. If the problem still is happening, it may be your stereo. =/ Goodluck! Hope this helps!

My ipod touch plays the music, but the lyrics are distorted. Tried different earphones, but it's still the same. If I move the plug a bit, it sometimes clears up.

Sounds like a bad headphone jack. Contact Apple at 1-800-275-2273 (1-800-APL-CARE) if it's under warranty. If not, find an iPod repair company to see if they can re-solder the headphone jack.

Restart your ipod by holding the home and power button at the same time, this will restart it and should fix it.

Hello I have my problem is that my jailbroken ipodtouch(2nd genertation) will not play music. It wont play sound the songs play but the sound you cant hear. Can any one help me?

Did the songs you're trying to play work previously/is it all music on the ipod? I believe if you plug the ipod into your computer and hit the restore button in iTunes it wipes everything and resets the factory settings. Seeing as jailbreaking it technically voids the warranty, there's no "official" way of fixing it - but this has worked for me in the past. It could also be a problem with your headphones or the headphone jack. Before wiping it, I'd test it with some different headphones to see if that solves your problem. You can also try a reset on the iPod itself by pressing the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. This doesn't erase anything, but it does reset the device. Since there are so many things it could be, you may want to try the less severe ones first, then back up your music and the like before doing the iTunes factory reset - then bring it in to Apple to let them know that you can't play music.

ITouch 2nd g only plays music throuhg left side of all headphones

Try playing with the headphone plug, until you can also hear the right
channel and also try a different set of headphones as it is probably a
matter of an intermittent headphone jack, or plug, owing to sudden
snatching of the headphone plug from same, a very common problem.

Eliminate this cause before submitting your Touch for much more
expensive remedies
