I have a GE Dual wave II Microwave System (model # jkp68g0k3). Still works great.

You may be able to find a replacement glass for your GE Dual Wave II microwave system by contacting GE's customer service or parts department. They may have compatible replacement parts available, or be able to direct you to a third-party supplier that carries them. You can also try searching for the part online using the model number of your microwave. However, keep in mind that older models may have limited availability of replacement parts, so you may need to consider alternative solutions such as having the glass custom-cut or purchasing a new microwave.

My oven keeps giving the f10 code even though I have replaced the temp sensor and the oven relay panel. What's the next step? It's an electrolux #ew30es6cgw2. Tia

F10 - Runaway temperature. If these error codes shown while the oven is in day time mode, the EOC (electronic oven control) would need to be replaced. Otherwise check the oven temperature sensor (RTD sensor) as described earlier and replace if necessary.
Most of the EOCs incorporated power relays among all other components while some of ovens use a separate power relay board to simplify design and lower cost of production. You can determine it by visual EOC inspection and/or by the wiring diagram for your oven (if it is available). If there are some relays on it, replace the EOC. If there are no relays on the EOC, check the parts list (Search by the Model number) for the relay or power board. If there is a such part, replace it. I'll be glad to help you if any problems with the diagnostic. Just leave a comment on the bottom of the page. In such situation I'll need the complete model number of the oven.

JTP85 microwave shuts completely off with a blank readout.

Your magnetron is overheating, and its attached thermostat is doing its job to protect the magnetron by shutting off the power to the oven until it cools back down to a safe temperature.

An overheating magnetron can be due to:

  • operating oven without cover(s) in place
  • wrong magnetron installed in oven
  • an old or otherwise failing magnetron
  • cracked magnetron magnet
  • improper power line voltage (should be 110-125VAC)
  • foods low in moisture (popcorn & bacon, e.g. - add 1/2 cup of water in rear oven when cooking such foods)
  • failed or inoperable cooling fan or hood vent exhaust fan
  • deteriorating foam weatherstripping seals in air ducts or on outside cover
  • blocked air vents (dust, animal nest debris, insufficient free air space behind & around oven, etc.)
  • clogged or greasy charcoal filter or grease filter
  • blocked duct in hood vent exhaust

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, and it is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

dee77f7.jpgAt our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Accessing some parts may require you to pull the oven from the wall and remove the cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Cooking in a convection microwave oven certainly is a bit different than using just a standard microwave and does require some special care and technique. Here is a link to an article which describes the general priciples of cooking with convection microwaves and explains some of the special techniques required:

http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/384/~/how-does-combination-microwave-convection-cooking-work-and-how-do-i-use-it%3F

Although there is no documentation currently available online specifically for the Casera line of Microwave Convection ovens, here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for a model of convection microwave from Whirlpool with very similar features:

Microwave heats fine, finishes timed amount, press end, open door and microwave keeps going like door is closed. Is this a malfunction that requires a recall? Sharp Carosel

Hi - I'm not sure about a recall but certainly not safe to use as you have exposed yourself to radiation if the oven runs with the door open.

Common sense must prevail here - there is a high possibility the door switch(s) is faulty - have it checked thoroughly by a serviceman and check with the company if there were known problems with the particular model in question.

I find it extremely rare for something like you have experienced to occur - have never come across this problem ever - the microwave circuits are meticulously designed to have three door switches to eliminate the very problem described by you.

A but concerned...

The bracket which holds the ceiling heating element up in the microwave broke so now the heating element is hanging down into the microwave cavity. How do I get a replacement part and is it easy to...

The brackets are usually made of heat resistant plastic, or bakalite, you can search for parts at www.whitegoods.co.uk but you will need model and serial number, a word of caution, the microwave oven may have to be dismanteled to fix new element holders, you can still get shocks from them even though the mains power has been disconnected, depending on the age of the appliance and availability of parts, it may be a replacement is required.
Hope this has been helpful

KEMC308 Microwave oven door

Had the same problem and bought the part online. It's not difficult to replace, simply hold the door by the handle as you loosen the 2 screws. Put the face of the door on the floor and remove 2 screws holding the plastic insert. You will have to remove the front vent panel (2 Screws) just below the microwave door. Then you might have to move the oven vent over to get to the final 2 screws on the bottom of the plastic panel. Once you have the palstic panel off the springs are exposed, simply look at how it is placed in the holder before you remove the damaged one. Replace and then re-assemle the door.
