My LG dehumidifier (LHD45ELY6) won't turn on after more than a year of use. It was emptied a couple days after the "bucket full" light turned on, which I hope was not the problem.

- I also forgot to mention that when I unplug and plug it back in, it beeps once.
-   I have the same problem - the unit acts like it is dead. When plugged in, the control panel has no response - completely dead. When you plug it in, there is a single beep. I have taken all of the covers off and the beep comes from inside the electronics box on the left rear of the unit. I suspect one of the electrical items on the PC board inside that box has failed. I'm a mechanical guy, not an electrical guy, so I can't diagnose it further since I don't know what would beep like that. I'm going to try to buy a new PC board somewhere and see if that solves the problem. Suffice to say I'm not happy with LG, as the unit is only a couple of years old.-   Bigfoot888

LHD45ELY7 also will not start after flawless operation for 6 weeks. After cleaning the filter...hardly contaminated, and wiggling the drawer, repositioning the drawer, which was empty though the indicator light said it was full, it would turn on. Now, it will not turn on. This unit functions well when it turns on in these swampy environment [June to October].
-   Water bucket is empty although the panel says its full. It will not run and has an error code of CH-01. That LG can not help me with. The unit is 8 months old.-   Guest
Boys and girls, I hate to tell you this -- but those units are DEAD. I had the same problems as being discussed here (not turning on, electronic chirp, bucket full signals), but with one other important feature -- the unit became so hot that I couldn't touch the top. At first it sounded and smelled like the fan was jammed, and later it sounded like the compressor wasn't working.
Anyway, after two weeks of dealing with LG (1-800-243-0000, and be prepared to call back several times as they have a phone problem), they have finally decided to refund me the money on my unit. Give them a call and speak to them. Also, as my unit was intermittently working, I would recommend that you unplug your malfunctioning unit if you are having these problems. A dead dehumidifier is one thing, a house fire is quite another thing.

I have a LG LHD45 EL dehumifier, which I purchased in Feb of 2008. I run it 24/7, and it is hooked up to my washtub to drain. It worked fine until it just shut down the other day. I have no fan, no lights, no anything. The filter has been cleaned, and the coils look clean. I checked the outlet it was plugged into, and that is working with other appliances. Can you give me some idea as to why this happened. I am thinking it should have lasted longer than this.
Thanks so much

The coils iced up. Now the unit is cycling strangely. Sometimes the compressor won't come on. Other times, when you remove the bucket to empty the water, the fan will come back on but the compressor won't. Also, only the two sets of coils in front seem to be cooling.

I HAVE 4 EA NEW LHD659EBK DEHUMIDIFIER and they make lots of noise and vibrate a bit, this is normal in these Dehumidifiers ..
I am having the same exact problem, it just stopped working after 1 1/2 years. When I unplug it and plug it back in it just beeps once. I tried to call customer service and they said that it has a 5 year warranty but they can only help me if I have the original store receipt from almost 2 YEARS AGO! Otherwise, I have to pay for the repairs myself.
My unit was turned on and just shut off by itself. Empted the water pan and cleaned the filter. Still will not turn on.

same here. Maybe a bug that made all these units shut off at the same time. Mine hasn't worked in almost 2 weeks. BTW the number on the manual that came with is for LG cell phones. Very helpful.
