Question about AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 1.67 GHz Retail Processor
I am HCL Branded Computer of AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.67GHz RAM of 128MB with a via motherboard D___ and i newly install 80 GB Hard Disk, and a DVD LG Writer.

You can change it as long as it the same or compatible with your motherboard. try to see your manual about your motherboard and see the compatibilities aside from your previous processor. hope that helps!

check bios setup (pres del or f10 at startup) for cpu speed if speed is mentioned less than actual then change to the right value. if cpu speed is ok in bios then speed info might have changed from registry. my computer>hkey_local_machine>hardware>description>system>central processor>hightlight o folder>on the right pane select processor name status> change this to original value.
