My 1999 Chevrolet Suburban heater and a/c switch not working properly. When I have my fron a/c unit on, it does not blow as cold as the back unit. It feels like it's blowing warm air like if the temperature was turn to the red. Now my back unit does the opposite. It blows very cold but when I turn the temperature to the red, it still blows cold. For the front unit, I changed my Thermonstat, heater control valve, and heater core. The back unit has a new heater core as well. I have refrigerant in both units and anit-freeze and coolant. Also a new radiator. Not understanding why the front unit will not get colder and the back unit will not get hot.

You are going to need to use a multimeter and have a professional test the relay voltages. This should probably only take an hour, make sure they have the proper electrical schematic for your vehicle year make and model.

To clarify - - if the truck has rear and heat, you have two heater cores and two evaporator cores. The evap cores carry the freon.
If the leak is in the evap core in the front, the price is probably right.

Rear a/c not working in suburban blows cold in front

If rear a/c blower motor working but just not cold, it's going to be a clog expansion valve for the back unit, if not blowing air bad blower motor.

1999 Suburban, A/C on warm air from front vents, cold air in rear

The car uses the same freon in the front as it does in the rear. If the rear a/c is working, you either have a plugged evaporator in the front unit, or perhaps a bad heater switch. Try switching the heater to hot and see if it blows even warmer air from the front vents. If so, the heater switch is working and then it sounds like a plugged evaporator or maybe a plugged orifice tube. That is a good place to start looking. Hope this helps.

Back air blows cold air, the front blows warmer air

I recenly had the same problem on my 1999 suburban, even after I replaced the whole ac system.
The heater valve, which is under the air filter area was not closing, causing heat to be blowing over the evaporator core. I used a zip tie to keep it in the closed position, and ac went from 70 degrees to 40. I think the vacuum switch is bad, 40 dollars (dealer part). You can also pull the vacuum hose off the switch, which is on the firewall and connect it dirctly to valve and it closes the valve, but fits loosley. Use silicone around vac hose if you go this route.

Heat blowing cold air in 2004 chevrolet suburban

With coolant full and engine hot, make sure both heater hoses are hot. If not replace thermostat. If they are, check the blend door for proper operation. Otherwise you may have a bad climate control module. Check both front & rear units.

most american cars force the defroster to blow cold air, this is not a problem, it does this by design.
