Remote Channel want change with the remote, bought new batteries and it still don't work.

My solution: Buy a universal remote. You can get them at most electronic stores. After finding brand code in booket(usually included with new remote),enter the code then presto!

Lots of possibilities. If you are using the remote, try also using buttons on the TV to change channels. If TV buttons work, the remote is broken or perhaps try changing batteries and cleaning battery contacts on the remote. If neither work, lots of other things to try. You may need to set preselect channels, so your TV thinks there is only one channel out there until you do. If you are on a cable box you just need channel 3 and change channels on the cable box. I can't tell what you mean by "audio changes with the channel" ... if you mean that when you try to advance channels, it increases volume and moving down in channels lowers volume that would be strange -- if you are using a programable remote it might not be set correctly (try another programming code). The "blurred" picture is probably symptomatic of having the set on the wrong channel, and if you could set channel it might clear up ... I'd start with getting channels to change. If you need more help, give the brand and model of TV, say if you are using a remote (original or programable), and what the 'audio changes' comment means in more detail. Probably worst case is that your tuner circuit is fried, but don't assume that without more diagnostic.

Consider that you may have a bad remote. You never mentioned why you bought a new remote. Did the original remote quit working? If so, the problem may be with the TV.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! mattymcmatt has the solution!!! I have had trouble with my Visio 26" remote ever since I got it several years back. Had to mess with the batteries, BUT Finally it quit entirely several months ago. I have tried everything... batteries, unplug TV, press each button on remote, etc... just bought a new remote, and tried all the above 'fixes' AGAIN nothing has worked. read mattymcmatt's fix of unplugging tv held down the on button on the tv for little over a minute, plugged tv back in and and VIOLA my remote is now WORKING!!! thankyou matty!!!!

The simplest solution would be to buy a new remote for testing purposes. I own a One-for-All universal remote (model URC-4220), which I bought at Walmart, for less than 10 dollars. It is compatible with Zenith TVs. (You can return it later, if necessary).
If the channel-changing problem is not resolved with your new remote, then you will know for sure there is a defect in your TV, which requires the expertise of a repairman.

I doubt that you will be able to change this with a universal remote. There is usually a button on the remote that says "display" that turns that feature on and off. You could look on ebay for a remote or contact the manufacturer to buy a new remote. If it is a new enough Tv that is still sold in stores you can tell them that you just bought it and the remote doesn't work and they will send you a free one. I bought a DVD burner and the remote wasn't working and they sent me a remote for free.
