I cannot remove or store material on my Memorex jump drive, can you tell me if it's a compatibility issue, and if not, how to fix it?

Hi-
Are you receiving some error message? try reformating the jump drive to an os journaled or fat 16 using the disk utility tool. check as well the jump drive maybe its write protected, check at both ends for a small switch. if there's none, try reformating it then. if all fails then try hooking it on a different computer, computer running XP or windows. If none still, it may be a hardware issue. call manufacturer if its within warranty for a replacement.

Hope this helps!

I cannot get my Memorex 64GB USB flash drive to open on my computer. I have windows 7 and when looking at my control panel and under drive status, it says this device cannot start (code 10). What do I...

Trouble shooting steps I would probably take:

1) Power cycle the computer (unplugged), and try it again, when it is COMPLETELY booted.

2) unplug it and plug it into a different port(s).

4) Try it on a different computer (both PC and MAC, as it could be a formatting issue) (if it doesn't work, entertain the reality that I may have lost everything and may have to format the drive and/or buy a new one)

IMac 27inch won't boot up

Power issues After ruling out display issues, and if your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps.
  1. Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device
  2. If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power, try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter. If you're using a Mac notebook, see Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
  3. Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to your computer. This includes things like printers, USB hubs, or mobile devices.
  4. Hold down the power button for ten seconds. Then, press the power button again to see if the computer turns on.
  5. Reset the SMC.
  6. If you recently installed memory or a drive in your Mac, make sure it's compatible, supported, and installed correctly. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive to see if the issue persists afterwards.
  7. If you're still unable to start up your computer after trying each of these steps, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for further diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).

Will your software work on my Mac running OS 10.6.2 I bought your CD labels and need a design template

Unfortunately the Memorex LabelMaker ExpressIt Label Design Studio software is only compatible with Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, and XP.

If you install Boot Camp, you can install Windows and use this software in a virtual computer. (However, you need a licensed copy of Windows.)

There are third party video editing software packages that have label design components (Roxio Toast is one package.) The Memorex labels should be compatible with some of these programs.

I wish that I had better news.

When I try to connect my Seagate Free Agent Pro backup drive using USB to my new Sony BDP S570 DVD player I receive a message USB device connected is not support. It worked with a Western Digital drive

So I would suggest a few things for this issue. First check the format of the drive you are trying to plug in. You can do this on your Mac by using Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility). Plug in the drive and open Disk Utility and click on the partition. At the bottom of the Disk Utility window it lists the information about the drive. You are specifically interested in the "Format" item. If your drive is formatted Mac OS Extended or some other Mac format you probably cannot use it on the Sony Blue Ray player. Most device look for and are only compatible with Windows type formats. For example, NTFS or FAT32. The best way to test if this is really the problem, or a systemic problem with the BR player would be to pick up a USB jump drive somewhere (they are cheap if you don't have one just laying around.) Format the jump drive to a FAT32 or NTFS file system using Disk Utility. Copy the files you want to view to the jump drive (Be sure to check the file type compatibility chart on the Sony website or in the manual and make sure what you are trying to view matches those types.) Plug that in and see if you are successful. Also there was a few notes on forums that Sony doesn't support actual hard drives on the BR players which would suggest that they only support Jump drives and FAT32 because of the file size limitations it brings. Try this and let me know how it goes. Attached is a picture of my Free Agent drive formatted for Mac in Disk Utility .jp_2010.jpg

Cannot reformat. Always says windows cannot complete reformat

The disk-drive inside the enclosure is malfunctioning.

Disassemble the enclosure, and remove the disk-drive.
Take the drive to any computer store, and buy a compatible drive -- same size, same interface (SATA? IDE?).
Then "transplant" it into the enclosure,
to "reconstitute" your external storage device.

Just got an lg ge20 not working on mac

I wish I could tell you that your Mac is compatible with the LG GE20 20X DVD Burner but unfortunately it is not.

Here are the system requirements for this burner
LG GE20 20X DVD Burner Technical Specifications

The CD included is not the only item that is not compatible with the Mac, it is also the DVD burner itself. It is only windows compatible I'm afraid.

However, I do know that the Apple.com online store, has a comparable DVD+RW burner, the
LaCie 22x d2 DVD+RW with LightScribe
which will work with your iMac.

This is a genuine incompatibility issue.

If you had an Intel iMac, there actually is a workaround process where virtual machine software, like VMWare Fusion or Parallels, could be installed, with a version of Windows XP, Vista, or 7, display as a 2nd terminal within a Mac OS X desktop.

What's makes this effective, is that the LG GE20 could work with a windows virtual machine and because software like VMWare for example, can share devices, including optical CD/DVD drives, the Mac could share that drive with the windows virtual machine.

But since you do not have an Intel iMac, unless I am reading the description of your Mac computer(Apple iMAC Mac Notebook) incorrectly, the LaCie burner information, I provided above, would be the best option for your model of iMac.

Again, if I have described your model of Mac incorrectly let me know and I will be glad to assist further.

Regards,

-Mactechtrainer

What BRANDS are compatable w/ HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T21N?

I hate to say it but memorex are the worst quality, the reason is that the drive's laser will try to adjust its power upward to burn the disk-optimum power calibration(OPC).Some burner programs display this . I have tried over 8 packets of different memorex media and results are poor ,one in five are coasters .I suspect memorex media will destroy drive lasers as running laser at top power isn't good for its life .I hate to recomend brands but tayo uden, verbatim and sony are good media but not as cheap as memorex but more cost effective!

MMP8565 Memorex & Mac

The device will show up on the desktop as USB storage, like a removable drive. You can drag and drop files (MP3s) just like a regular hard disk.
