I can only comment genericaly for this:

Most likely the internal drive shaft is defective. In some models there is a gear box. This may not be coupling correcty due to a failure. In any of these cases it will most likely need replacement parts to be reliable again. Your shaver should never fall apart!

You can call the company and enquire about where to send the shaver for service. Some of these companies have a flat rate fee for service. Look for your reciept to see if it is possibly under warranty. If the estimate for repair is too high, then you should consider a new shaver.

I would suggest for you to try getting a higher end type model. From personal experience and the research that I have done in the past, I found the Philips and the Panasonic to probably be the best shavers around at this time. You may pay a little more, but they are worth the few exra dollars for the performance and reliablity.

What is the best beard trimmer for styling and sensitive skin?

Yes, you are right! Now a days most of the people are using electric shaver because of its advantages like:
  1. It gives a fast shave.
  2. It is cheaper than manual shaving kits
  3. It gives a smooth shave and also there is no chance to get cut or skin irritation
If you are looking for beard trimmer than i will let know that trimmers are used to cleaning up the edges. I would recommend you to use clippers rather than using trimmers because clippers are used for doing the bulk of a haircut.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. Our complete sharpening & repair service is $19.99 each trimmer, this includes return shipping. We sharpen the blade, adjust and set the blade according to your request (Lineup or Shave setting) make all the necessary adjustments for alignment, power, tension to make your trimmer work better than new. Pop up trimmer stopped working Remington R830

Make sure you are using the trimmer with the shaving heads on the shaver. With heads removed, the trimmer on the back will not work properly. If thats not the problem, the trimmer is broken or jammed. clen the blades really well with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol. If they're jammed, this will probably free them up. If that doesnt do it, the trimmer is probably broken and that part is no longer available from Remington. If you really like this model, you can find a replacement at shaveroutlet.com
