Same problem as these guys. TV "blinks off." Unplug for a while. Then plug back in and hit power button. Green light flashes a couple of times. TV makes a "staticky" noise. Then the green light flashes off. The kids think there is a "weird smell."

    Please advise.

    Thanks

My RCA D52W25 brought on Jun 2005 had the same problem 7 months ago: I turn it on and the green light blinked couples of times and then go off... not sound or picture at all. It also had a high pitching sound on the back because the flyback was arcing. I bought a new flyback and replace the old one, but again was arcing.
I talk to a technician and he told me to replace the Vertical IC (Vertical Deflection Booster P/N TDA8177F), That fix the problem with the pic and Sound, but the flyback was arcing and makin a popping sound. So, I took RTV silicone and sealed deep around the red power supply wire and that fixed the problem. Now after 7 motnhs, again I have the same problem with the pic and sound ( no problem with flyback). I will have to replace the IC TDA8177F again). Note: Use the IC with the F letter a the end, I used one without it and didn't work.... they are different.

The IC P/N TDA8177F is located right on from of the flyback, resting against an aluminum heat sink. It has 7 legs.

Replace 2200uf 16v capacitor, and two 220uf 35volts they are located in front of chassis on power board Green and Gold colors noise sound or squealing sound is caused by coil LL037 also on same board.

My d52w19 chassis itc222 as posted most of the time wont turn on and the green light flashes three times every time it makes a small noise. sometimes it does turn on and you hear a little pop and the tv fires up.  latley there is a really high pitch noise that will slightly change pitch if you move the tv or put slight pressure on the top or botttom rear part of the chassis. thanks for the help as I have seen that this has been posted before without mention of the high pitch noise.

65" mitsubishi rear projection tv won't turn

IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off:
On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.

Hi,
If the led light flashes green continuously, the fault came from the DM power supply. The faulty parts there are the electrolytic capacitors. Let me know if your handy with electronics and I will assist you to fix it yourself.

Tv has been turning off right after you turn it on then after a few attempts it would stay on now the power button on front turns green, it tries to come on but then turns off.

Sounds like high voltage power supply has gone bad. You can try purchasing new PS online and replacing yourself if handy or you will need to bring in for service.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.
