My cd dvd drive is not recognized by my computer. It does not show up on my control panel. This has happen before but somehow it sorted it self out. I hope not to buy another cd rom drive, they are $80.00
Your problem is probably configuration related if its not driver related. Make sure drivers for your drive are properly installed. Check device manager to see if your drive has drivers, if not, download Driver-Mechanic which will update your driver. Alternativelly go to BIOS, Advanced settings, check if your drive is enabled
