I downloaded new software from Apple for my IPod Shuffle. Since then, both CD drives are no longer recognized or useable for my computer. I need to reinstall the CD drivers.

Your problem is probably configuration related if its not driver related. Make sure drivers for your drive are properly installed. Check device manager to see if your drive has drivers, if not, download Driver-Mechanic which will update your driver. Alternativelly go to BIOS, Advanced settings, check if your drive is enabled

My lg cd/dvd drive is not being recognized on my computer. Is there a driver I can download to fix this?

First check this device on some other computer. If it works on other computer try to check your power cables are working. If cables are also fine try to install the device from control panel--Add hardware Or try to reinstall the windows.

See if it gets listed in Device Manager. You can access this from Start->Control panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager.
If it gets listed with some error tag, try uninstalling & then Scan for new hardware

CD - ROM

If you haven't tried reinstalling the drive, this may help:
- Open the Control Panel - Open the System folder - Click on Hardware - Click on Device Manager
Locate the DVD-CD-ROM entry and expand it. Highlight your optical drive and press 'Delete'
If it argues with you, answer 'Yes' to the question of deleting the drive(s)
Reboot your computer and watch for a message box reading that a 'New Device' was found and software for it is being installed.
If it still doesn't want to cooperate, then the drive is probably 'toast' and will need to be replaced.
