My ice breaker does not work. I waas advised by a Viking repair man that my ice breaker module was the problem. So, I bought a new module and insdtalled it. The ice breaker doesn't work still The Viking guy says there are three power buttons (on/off) buttons in this freezer, onme of which is the on/off buttom that powers the ice-breaker. I cannot find them inside the freezer. If there is such a power butoon for this freezer, where is it ? Will it kick-start this new ice-breaker module?

SOURCE: Viking all refrigerator

I just started having the same problem with my 48" frig/ freezer Viking Designer series 2 years old- this has been a hot summer, we were not home much and the AC in the house was set higher 78 degrees so the frig I guess had to work a bit more - when I open the door to the frig water droplets acually run down the interior of the door and the box insde is always damp - I also have stress cracks in the interior shell of the frig - repairman is trying to get Viking to fix it- it has been a year now and it still is not fixed- the stress cracks were caused by improper insulation application to the inside of the frig according to the repair people- Also my handles have pealed - like the stainless steel is not really stainless steel - Any ways could the temp in the house changed - does not mean the frig should not work well - For what it costs, I expected better

SOURCE: 48 " viking ice maker tray frozen no ice

Try replacing
the icemaker unit. I used Supco model RIM943 and its working great. Found it online for $55 on line.

My Viking 48" ice maker has given me a little trouble too. The first ice maker assmble was replaced under warranty. It only came with a one year warranty so when it just went out again I thought I would take a look. Just like you I had no ice. It only take two screws to remove the ice making unit and a quick discount plug. I read up on the unit to trouble shoot it. My Ice maker had the ejection forks stuck in the down (in the ice cubes) postion indicating the unit was out of sync and needed to be completly replaced.

On another note:

I also had a proble with the flapper ice cube door on the outside ice dispenser. Ice cubes would get stuck in the door and would not drop into the cups. This was a lot tougher to fix, but I like figuring things out. Turns out I had some ice that got stuck in the flapper and some how it melted and froze back up to lock the flapper. When the motor came on it sheard a shear pin in a coupling just off the drive motor. I made a home made shear pin and put it back together and all work great now. It was a bit of work to take it all apart and to tell that the motor was good and the relay was working right.

Viking built-in refrigerator/freezer:tube that fills the icemaker is freezing, so ice maker not working. Tech says because hooked up to RO, advised up pressure to 50. Of note, non-factory ice maker

The reason the fill tube freezes up is because the water valve is leaking by. 50PSI should be enough pressure. You most likely need a water valve.

Where will I find a new circuit board in the UK, for my 30yrs+ machine & a specialist repair man. Tried A1 sewing machines but they haven't got one.

Have your authorized Viking dealer procure a replacement board from Viking or perhaps get a board from a used machine that another dealer might have. Failing both options above, purchase a newer Viking sewing machine.

I have a side by side refrigerator that is 5 years old, and the ice maker does not work. We purchased a 5 year warrenty from Best Buy and requested warrenty repair. It took 3 weeks to get the repair part...

The ice makers are rather finiky. limit switches for almost every movement. Sounds excessive, but replacing the ice maker module will save you a lot of worries. The signal to fill with water comes from the icemaker when it is in the correct position

Ice maker stopped working. The water is cool, the filter is new. Dispensing water, but no ice.

It sounds like the solenoid valve has failed. This is what regulates the water to the ice maker. Have it replaced and that should take care of the problem. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Viking professional 30 inch, sparking problem

If you have replaced the spark module with the new, blue PA020041 Tytronics 0+4 spark module, the physical positions of the leads that go to the burner igniters are reversed compared to the positions on the old, white module. Make sure that the switch wire for the burner and the position of the spark wire both go to the same burner! The positions are marked on the white label with green lettering.

Garmin gpsmap 162 turns on, works for about two minutes, then a thin black vertical line comes across screen and screen goes blank with the line remaining. I have to unplug and start over. Same things...

Possible Solution found on google....

My old Garmin 162 chartplotter was mounted on the binnacle guard and served me
well for many years. Lately, it started getting very slow to refresh screens.
At times, it would shut down with only a black vertical line on the screen. On
our last cruise, the screen froze at a very critical moment. Too old to
repair, I bought a new Garmin 440, which I am very disappointed with, but
that's another story.
I read an article in the GoodOldBoat newsletter about the Department of Defense
making changes to the WAAS satellites that have caused problems in Garmin 72
and 76. Garmin's tech support recommended to turn the WAAS function off on
affected units. So I got out my old 162 and turned the WAAS off and it works
fine. To make sure it wasn't a fluke, I turned it off and on several times,
and it always slowed down with WAAS turned on. With it turned off, the
position error or accuracy, increases 1-2ft, not a big deal. I hooked the unit
up on my truck and drove around. Not a problem. Further reading indicates
that other brands of GPS are also having problems with the new WAAS
transmissions.
So if you are having problems with your GPS and it is new enough to have WAAS,
try to turn it off
