Try changing the settings back to factory default. Both of my surround speakers stopped working, and doing this brought them back. If your remote functions properly, it can be done by hitting this exact sequence when in the DVD mode:
Setup>Right Arrow>Right Arrow>Right Arrow>Right Arrow>Enter>Down Arrow>Down Arrow>Enter
Note: The Arrow buttons are the ones that surround the Enter button.

This is a very poorly designed system, and the remote will not work from slight angles. You must be directly in front of the unit for the best signal reception from the remote.

How do I turn off pscan on a rca dro2oon DVD player

IMPORTANT:
If you don't have a Progressive Scan TV or you don't have the DVD player connected to the correct Input Jacks, and you activate Progressive Scan in the DVD player you won't see a picture! Don't panic-try the following:

First, press the PREV/VIDEO button on the front of the DVD player (it will go to the next video output option, which is an interlace output so a picture should appear on the TV screen). If that doesn't work, press and hold PREV/VIDEO button on the front of the DVD player for 3 seconds. Now, press the PREV/VIDEO button again (it will go to the next video output option, which is an interlace output so a picture should appear on the TV screen). If you still don't see a picture on your TV screen, make sure the yellow cable (provided) that is attached to white and red cable (called audio/video cables) is connected to the DVD player's PREV/VIDEO jack and the TV's Video Input jack. Change your TV channel to your TV's Video Input
channel that activates the TV's VIdeo Input jack where you have connected the yellow cable (page 9 of your manual has more information). This PREV/VIDEO jack on the DVD player always outputs interlace video, so you should see a picture on the TV screen.

As a last resort, you can reset the DVD player to the factory default settings:
Press and hold the STOP button on the remote control and the NEXT button on the front of the player at the same time - wait at least 5 seconds before you release both buttons

Hello, I cannot change my picture from 4:3 to 16:6. The mode "change size" is not working. I cannot stretch the picture. Wolfgang, Germany w

hi,
You have to set the out put video format of your dvd player also to 16:9. For that go to the menu of your dvd player and serch for video output seting and set the output as 16:9.

Even if you select 16:9 option in the projector if the video out put of the dvd is 4:3 , then the projector will automatically change to the 4:3.
ok

I was using my dvd players component outs for a year but my hi def tv died so when I hooked up my old tv to the single video out I can't get any picture out of it. I think I need to get into dvd player set...

If its an old Sony dvd player then check Progressive Scan button at rear or some may have it on front to turn off to get composite video output (yellow video out)
And if it does not have any manual switch for progressive scan then turn off dvd player by pressing power button on its remote control, press 3, 6, 9 on dvd remote and press power to turn dvd player On.
That will turn off / disable progressive scan mode and you will get video output from yellow video out jack.

HOW TO RESTORE PICTURES AFTER SCAN

Look for a button on the remote control that says 'video output, video output mode', or something similar. If this doesnt work. Make sure its properly hooked up. Of that still doesnt work, get out the old dusty manual and take alook at how to change this. if it gives youa graphical pic in the book on how to do it, follow the pic by counting the rows and pressing the button on the remote. Or if there is a way to restore factory defaults do it,

Go to the settings menu in the dvd player. You will need to change the output settings to
match the output you are using. Whether it is s-video, component, or hdmi . This will fix the color issue.

There can one of two problems here. Either your DVD player's output is set to NTSC and you are attempting to play it through a PAL (European) TV, or you are perhaps using the SVHS output incorrectly. The solution is to access the player's setup menu and ensure the video output is set to your standard (PAL or NTSC). Hope this helps!
