Router connect problems

I tried to use Admin and admin and it still would not let me connect. I can't figure out what has changed in the last two weeks. I have friends in who normally could get in with my former password but we have now connected them directly to the router.

Any further ideas on how I can get in to manage the router

Seems your friends are playing a joke on you, try resetting your Router to factory settings, here is how to do it:
Take a paper clip (or anything else with a fine point), press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds (reset button is next to the power input) and release it.
DON'T TURN IT OFF or pull the power plug it during this time.
Once that is ready, you can use admin as user and no password, just hit enter; then set a new administrator password.

Hope that helps!

I was unable to login as admin in my dir600 dlink router...but i can login as user...how can i login as admin?

The default admin username is "admin" with no password.

The default adress is http://192.168.0.1

If you are still unable to connect, the password may have been changed. Reset the router with the button on the back, and try again.

I want to change my password lynksys wrt150n.

Are you speaking about the wireless network password?
For this you will need to access the setup page of the router?
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
open the setup page of the router.
Go to wireless tab and change the wireless settings.
If you want to change the ' Router ' password then go to administration tab and change the router password.

Click Here for more information about the routers and network

I can't access my routers administration page. It tells me to type in http://192.168.0.1 and all I get is a bunch of search results instead of the administration page

disconnect your modem from router, or turn off your modem from router...

Now try to open...

because the router admin page will be built inside the router itself... so you never require internet connection to be ON for opening the router admin page...

Do not know username and password.

You will need to reset the router - stick a pin in the back where the reset button is and hold it in there for 10+ seconds while power is on. This will set it to the default for that model router - you can check Linksys site for the manual to get the default username and password.

Can't connect iTouch to Verizon GT704WG wireless router

Actiontech routers should use the username/password combination of admin // password. If those aren't working, you or someone else, may have changed the default username/password of the router. In that case, you either need to figure out what was set or use the little red button on the back of the router to reset the router to factory defaults. Once that's accomplished, you should be able to use the password combo above.

Connecting to an existing router

I believe that once you make the connections to your modem, you should be able to log into the router to set it up by opening a web browser and putting "http://192.168.1.1/" or "http://192.168.0.1/" (without the quotes) into the address line. The default username and password is usually "admin" and "admin" or username "admin" with no password. From there you should be able to configure the router as needed.

In order to do this, you either need to be able to pick up the wireless signal (and have the WEP or WPA key if it's already secured), or connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable and then take the steps above.

Lastly, once you're in, check the router's manual (if you have it), to see what the recommended settings are. The nice thing is that routers make connecting to the internet easier for you: then work with the modem to figure out the IP addresses for your networked computers, as opposed to having to go into your TCP/IP settings on your computer and having to mess around there.

Let us know if you have any success.

WEP key

Really depends on your router, if it is linksys (Most common) it's simple.

Connect a computer to a wired connection on the router. Point your browser at http://192.168.1.1/ That should take you to the admin interface of the router. If that doesn't work, check the documentation that came with your router --- it will give you the correct aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd IP address.

If you (or someone else) has not set the password for the admin screen, the default for Linksys (the last I used one) was blank for the username and "admin" for the password, but again, RTFM. BTW, of you set up WEP security but left the admin login default, perhaps someone found your wireless and changed the key for you.

If all else fails, do a hard reset on the router and start over. "Hard reset" is not just a power cycle... there is usually reset button on the bottom or somewhere that requires a stylus (pen, paperclip, etc.) to push it... you usually have to hold it in for 30 seconds or more to cause the hard reset. This will take your router back to factory default settings for everything.

But if the admin pass / name is incorrect try

Account: Admin
Password: Password

Or

Account: Admin
Password: Password

try both with capital start, then all lower case, Hope this helped!
