It’s the problem of ventilations sir.because the cold air which collects in the fridge comes out through ventilations .and if the ventilations are blocked.the fridge will become extra cool and freeze all your food items.just clean the ventilations carefully. .the ventilations are located below each tray on the side area.defrost the fridge for 24hours.and off all the temperature settings.when you ON the unit after 24 hours set the temperature back as per your requirements.and it will work properly as normal.please do rate the solution.thanks.keep me updated.

Check the temperature in the freezer section. If it is less than 10 degrees F., turn the thermostat to warmer. If the temperature in the freezer is 10 degrees F., leave it and go to the temperature control in therefrigerator. It is a damper that controls cold air from the freezer. Close the damper until your temperature in the upper part of the refrigerator is 38 to 40 degrees F. If this does not solve your problem, then your thermostat is kaput and you need a service call.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using Fix YA!

Hi ddrutows,
Try these measures to solve your problems.

The "minimum" temperature setting is usually the coldest setting and it certainly could be below 32F in the fridge and things will freeze.

If the temperature adjuster is a dial type then there should be a "normal" set point with "colder" and "warmer" notations on either side of it. If the dial is below the "normal" point then turn it up to at least "normal". If the dial is at "normal" then move it a little toward the "warmer" setting and let it sit for a day and see if things appear to thaw a bit.

If your fridge has a digital temperature indication then the "default" is usually about 38F. If it is set below that then bring it up to 38F. If it is already at 38F or higher then increase it by a degree or two. Let it sit for a day and see if things thaw any.

The normal temperature in the refrigerator section should be about 38-40F.

The compressor runs whenever the refrigerator thermostat calls for cooling (and the defrost timer is not in a defrost cycle, for self-defrosting units).
So your thermostat is faulty or disconnected and does not control compressor's operation.

Check back wall freezer temperature

If your refrigerator has a motorized damper in the fridg, disconnect plug to it and jam open the damper door half way
motorized damper is behind a cover on the freezer side of the refrigerator.

Just stick a thermometer in the freezer.

Check also following suggestion from Repairclinic:

The food in the refrigerator freezesThis
is a common problem that often doesn't have a clear, permanent
solution. The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator
temperature (see the Appliance Accessories section for a
refrigerator/freezer thermometer). The proper temperature should be
between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:

  • If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly.

  • If
you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the
bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive
    products on a higher shelf.

  • If the temperature is too
low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you
probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it,
because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in
the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side
models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite
difficult to locate and correct, we recommend you contact a qualified
    appliance repair technician.

Do first a complete defrost, this often solve the problem, as will stop ice from accumulating. If it does not work it is usually a defective thermostat. You can buy parts by inputting model number here, or use the phone number printed on owner manual to call in repair.
    Do defrost first.

Particularly if it is freezing on one side the thermostat can be jammed, often you fix it by defrost, if it keeps freezing then you have to work with temperature, or in the worst case to replace thermostat.

The freezer has been melting ice-cream

The first thing to do is, give it a FULL DEFROST, the old fashioned way. set it for defrost or unplug it and melt all of the ice out of the air tunnels below and behind the freezer. In the refrigerator section, you will find a hole that you can stick your finger into, normally in the wall next to the freezer. This has the defrost timer in it. Give it a full turn CLOCKWISE to make sure the contacts aren't stuck. When you are sure all the ice is melted and the water has been dried up, power it back up. It will run properly if nothing actually went bad. The next step, if it doesn't work right, is to replace the thermostat.

My fridge side out the blue is freezing. All

I had the same problem with mine a few years ago. After two thermostat replacements and still having the problem, the third technician out explained that if you blocked the vent on the inside of the refrigerator, (the shelf below meat drawer, left side) it could cause freeze up. Sure enough, haven't had a problem since.

Liquids frozen in refrigerator, no water from water dispenser

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.
