Computer runs slow

It sounds like you might have some type of virus or other malware.

Here's some things I would recommend to start with:

  1. Install and run a scan with the free version of Malwarebytes, removing any malware items found.
  2. Run a second scan using the ESET online scanner, removing any malware items found
  3. Install and run ccleaner to clean up unneeded temporary files.
If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may want to seek professional help.

Hi, my mozilla firefox is so hard to open , and it takes minutes before it opens .. what will i do ?

Sometimes it depends on your internet connection speed, if your internet connection is slow, even if its not Mozilla, it will take time for a browser to load up. If it's really your Mozilla browser, you can try to uninstall and reinstall it. Click on Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program and then look for Mozilla Firefox then uninstall it, restart the computer after, then Open up your Internet Explorer and on the address bar, type and from their website, download the Mozilla browser again. You can try to download Google Chrome as you alternative browser.

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

Running very slow

if your machine is a year old or older, and if you have not ran any maintenance types of programs on it, it's probably very slow because of the cache files alone. try opening up your browser, i assume internet explorer or firefox. in IE, go under options/tools or tools/options and find where it talks about clearing your internet browser history files and cache files. try clearing these out. the other thing you can try is a website called, go to the top right hand side of the page and click optomize your pc, free pc scan. this scan will take a while, but it will look at your entire computer and suggest things that you need to do. things like delete files, history, duplicates, etc will all show up. recommending suggestions to fix your problems, i always say do as the computer suggests you do. this is a free scan and free solution via there website, i use it all the time. your emachine should be fixed and much better for you after these steps. i hope this helps.

Press windows key + R so you can see run then type in run "%tmp%" without "" then press enter .Then delete all temp files.
Then type in run "prefetch" without "" then press enter then delete all prefetch files.
Then type in run "chkdsk /r" without "" then press "y" then restart computer then it fix error on harddrive .
Then your computer and browser run fast.
Also update your antivirus from internet and scan computer .

try to click on start->run->type"msconfig"->then in starup then disable all programs you want but dont disable critical sys programs. This will make sure that all these programs will not star with windows. It will free up memory. You can also try to reinstal System or buy more memory.

I also installed RegGenie, as my computer system (Vista) is running really slowly, and my CPU usage is often at 100% even though I don't have much open. Apparently it found 1,122 errors, 900 of them in 'unused registry keys', so I hit the "Fix" button. I was somewhat dismayed to be informed then, and only then, that there was a $40 charge to fix. I exited, and uninstalled the program, but before the uninstallation could take place, I got a pop-up saying I could now get it for $20. I exited the popup and the program uninstalled. I then ran a MalwareBites deep scan, which told me I had one infection. A Spyware Pass... (word??) from... guess who... RegGenie!

I ran several other spyware and botwares, all of which came up clean. I still haven't solved my problem of the high CPU usage, but thought I'd share my experience of getting an infection from RegGenie.
