i have a samsung SGH D900 but when i found it, it wasnt mine. I handed it into the police only to have it returned 3 weeks later because no one claimed it. turned out that a girl in my village had lost it but didnt want it anymore because it was just a back up phone, and said i could have it. i have put my sim card in it but it says "limited service" and when i try to make a call it says "emergency calls only". there is also a phone with a red line through it at the top left hand corner next to the signal (which is full). i consulted the girl and she said she had rang up o2 and had the phone locked when she lost it, and neither of us know how to lift this "emergency calls only" thing. can you help me? ive tried turning it off and then turning it on again, but to no avail. many thanks in advance!

When phone is turned on, Emergency Calls only dialing pad is the only function available. How to return to normal function?

Tried the "age old trick" of turning the phone off and then turning it back on. Wahlah!!!! Back to normal, can make calls without any problems.

Gsm secrets

Type *#61# and press call - Check call redirection status.
Cancel all redirections: ##002#
*43# to activate call waiting, to deactivate #43#.
If your phone doesn't have incoming call barring and outgoing call barring, you can try this. For outgoing call barring dial *33*barcode*# and pres OK. To deactivate it dial #33#barcode*#.
On any phone on any network type in **43# to enable conference calls. You can make up to 7 calls at once
If you need to block SMS reception (if you are spammed by someone) just press this code: *35*xxxx*16# xxxx is your Call Barring code (default is 0000). To remove this barring type: #35*xxxx#
If you want to hide/show your phone number when calling, put one of these codes below in front of the number that you are going to call. (*#30# / *#31# or *31# / #31# ) Works on some networks.
Typing *0# or *nm# on the beginning of a txt message gives you detailed delivery report on some networks.. But turn off reports in message settings before. When the sim card-pin blocked type **042*pin2 old*newpin2*newpin2*

Outgoing calls are restricted by fdn

This means that Fixed Dialing is enabled to certain numbers. You'll have to disable this function in order to call other numbers.

Call restriction 34

I have a similar problem with my Samsung on Vodafone, but the "emergency calls only" error message. Solution is to re-boot it by power off and on. Problem appears irregularly, but functions OK once re-booted. If this solves your problem, then I assume that the other error messages are simply the sort of behaviour associated with computers hanging etc.

Trying to dial out gives message 'Conditional forwarding' then 'exit call'

hello,it could be a network problem from your service provider,so you will need to contact them to find out what the problem is,or you can as well scroll through your setting to se if your outgoing calls are not being barred.
please kindly rate the solution if it's helpful,

take care.
