The only way to reset the BIOS is to take the laptop appart, remove the CMOS battery and short the reset jumper on the motherboard. Unfortunately this is unrealistic unless you are handy with taking things appart and putting them back together.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cant access BIOS to reset it

turn the unit off completely
then turn it on as normal and press the delete button ( hold down) to activate the bios screen
go to the boot tab and enter on it ( keyboard will not click on but the arrows will work)
you will see a list of boot options in a drop down box
make usb no one , enter then esc
you can at the same time arrange the booting sequence as 1,2,3,4 etc

Cant access bios to change boot order to reuinstall windows 7

Boot the computer and watch the screen. It will tell you what key to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup. You have to hit the key when you see the message or it won't work and you will have to restart.

It also shows you which key to hit to change the Boot Sequence or Boot Order. But you have to hit the key when the message appears on the screen or it won't work and you'll have to reboot. This is a temporary 1 time change for the current boot cycle. When you change it in the Bios or System Setup it's a permanent change.

I have acer aspire 3000+ and cant change bios setup to boot first from cd rom and erecovery doesnt work

Why can't you change the bios setup to change the boot order or boot sequence?

Also you can change the boot order or boot sequence temporarily by just rebooting the laptop then watch the screen for which key it says to hit to change the boot sequence or boot order, then hit that key when you see the message.

Fujits amilo pro v2030 will not boot up

Are you getting the BIOS info on the screen?
If you can access the BIOS check all the setting.
Hard Drive installed, Boot Sequence and so-on.
If you get NOTHING on the screen but can hear it "running", try plugging in a Monitor, you may have to find the monitor key, usually = hold "Fn" + Press "F5" to switch screen to monitor to both.

I have LG E500 and I want to instal XP. I cant make changes in bios like boot sequence, so I cant boot from cd and therefor I cant instal XP. What should I do?

I don't recommend downgrading your laptop from Vista to XP but...

According to manual, pressing F2 during boot sequence takes you to BIOS and then you can change
the order of the boot sequence in the BIOS. From the manual:

"...set passwords, change the booting order, and add new peripheral devices to the machine."

If you can't find boot sequence in BIOS setup, talk to a support rep online:

You may need to use a different server if not in CA.

IPC laptop has blank screen

All your doing in the bios is changing the boot up sequence to the drives?. If it was FN key and F5 similtaneously then Im baffled. In my machine its the FN and F4 together or at the same time and the screen goes back and forwards or both stay on.
