The unit powers up with a numeric code: 79600598. Unable to do anything with this set. Purchased this unit about 5 weeks ago on E-Bay.

with most eclipses they have a security cd feature... what i mean is that the first cd you put in is like a key... remember what cd you used the very first time... put that in and see if it unlocks it.. sounds weired but it worked on my personal player that locked on me i searched all over and the only other solution i came up with was to send it into eclipse for a reset and screw that lol.. ampman

Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider Gt-S I cannot figure out how to get the fascia panel and face plate off of the radio to get to the numbers needed to retrieve the radio code. How do I take the panels OFF?

Hi

The stereo in the Eclipse can be removed with nothing more than a Phillips screwdriver

Disconnect the negative battery cable from your Eclipse's battery. Remove the two Phillips screws along the bottom of the radio/climate control trim panel. Lift up the bottom of the trim panel to unlock the lower retaining clips. Work your fingers around the sides of the panel to loosen the other clips and remove the panel. Remove the four Phillips screws holding the stereo in place. Slide the stereo out of the dashboard and disconnect the wiring harness and antenna cable from the back of the device.

I have a 1999 eclipse spyder the infinity stereo is locked the time comes on for a second then goes away the light still stays on but it doesnt ask for a code it doesnt do anything

Get in touch with a Chrysler or Mitsubishi dealer customer service department. They will be the only ones that will be able to talk you through what to do.

2001 stereo code.

The stereo's ESN Feature has activated. High-end Eclipse stereo's have a feature to prevent theft where if the battery is disconnected from the stereo, it must be "unlocked" with a "key" CD, that comes with the CD player but can later be changed to a personal CD of the owner. You would need to either call Eclipse and see if they can de-activate it (you'll need to ship it to them, if they even do it, because it is a security feature after all.) Or you need to talk to the last owner of the vehicle and have them unlock it.

Car stereo lock up

Hi basic101

There is a security cd that comes with the unit originally. You use that to reset the code. without it, is difficult to fix here in this forum. .
There is also antoher way, if you had the unit installed, try playing the first Cd you ever played on the system. That apparant;y is a method for unlocking them also.

Other than that, you may need to get the serial number off the unit and get in touch with your local Eclipse Authorised repair guy.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, just give me a hoy :) If you are still unsure, or have problems, then before you give a rating for this advice, please get back to me and we can try some more things.
Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Cheers.

the unit is locked up eclipse has a feature called esn or eclipse security network. you use a cd to program a passkey that only the owner knows. then if it is stolen the unit is useless. unless you know the right cd cool huh? if the unit is registered to you they will help you unlock it but if not they wont. cool huh. kinda makes you feel good that even if someone does steal your radio they cant use it.. ever.. eclipse also offers a one year theft guarantee out of the box if you register it with them. cool huh..

Eclipse 5340 deck

I forget about the security light but I do know about the clock. I believe you turn the deck off and hold display or push display and the clock will come up. Then use the preset buttons for adjustment. I think 1/2 is for the hour and 3/4 are for the minute. It has been a while for me doing this but I think it is right. I just powered mine back up a while back and am trying to find my starting cd. You wouldn't happen to know how to reset this function and start over?
