8 gb usb memory stick

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could maybe help me with an 8 gb usb memory stick i have recently purchased off ebay. it was brand new and worked fine for around 3 weeks. Got it from china so cant be bothered with posting back for refund. now it wont format in windows xp pro service pack 2 and i was wondering if i should throw it away? or could the bad sectors be moved to the end and could it still be used? i have a program called paragon partition manager 9 but dont really know how to use it and cant see an option to format it which is what i need to do first to get laptop to recognise it. any help would be great thanks. cheers steve

on the lexar 2 GB memory usb stick i transfered all my pictures onto the stick and deleted them frommy C drive on my computer. But i found that when i tried to open the USB stick thinking that all of my pictures were on there, i found that it my pictures were not there. So i then had to restore all the pictures frrom my recycle bin back onto my computer for the pictures to show up on my usb stick. I also found that when i used the stick on another computer my pictures don't come up but the pictures that are on the other computer comes up. Is there a way of getting the memory stick to retain the data that i have transfered so that i can use it on another computer?

1. The TV and drive may not be compatible with each other. 2. The formatting of the drive could be the problem. The USB memory stick would be formatted as FAT32, but the Iomega drive would have been formatted as NTFS. Maybe the TV can only read drives formatted as FAT32 and not NTFS.

I bought 64gb through ebay it is not formatting

Preformat : By Fix-shad0w

Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from or
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Am I supposed to just put the memory stick in the usb port in the front of my cpu? How long does it take before it's done. This is the first time I've ever purchased this.

Most of these portable memory sticks are all plug and play. This simply means they are ready to be used whenever and wherever. Just plug in the drive to your USB port and drag files into the listed hard drive. Just remember, do not pull this stick out of the USB port without pressing "safely remove hardware" on your start bar. Failure to do this can result in frying your flash memory. Best of luck!
