I did the obvious checkin of all the connections. Nothing. I bought a new antenna for $200, hooked it up and it worked. The weekend came around, I turned it on and "GPS module not responding" again. What could it be?

If you're using a raystar 125 antenna, you will have to power the red wire + and the shield wire - separately. Sl70's don't provide power over seatalk. Also make sure your green and brown wires are properly connected. If it's a 120 just power the red and sheild(black) and leave off the all except the yellow that's your data. If you still have nothing may probably have a problem in the antenna itself.
It has a short in the wiring which is "not user fixable". I think the wires are crossed. Take it back, they need to repair or replace it. I suggest you replace it. Take the GPS with you show you can show them the problem. If you bought this on line call Lowrance and find the nearest repair center. Repair it yourself and you loose the warentee.
