Problem for Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum

I own a RCA DVD recorder, having problems with the drawer/door opening

Suddenly The drawer stopped opening. YOu can't open it with the remote or open it manually. The gaurantee just ran out two mo. before it stopped working and I cant get assistance from the Manuf. b/c they are being bought out by another company. Is there a part that went out and if so what is it and where can I go to get problem fixed?
