Dear sir/madam,

you have to follow the minimum requirementsof the game, as well as software and hardware requirements.
most of the time, it quits due to screeen resolutions, directx software status, and memory management

please check out the above things, to overcome this issue.

you can reinstall the directx and setup the screeen resolutions and game screen settings properly as per the game instructions.

thank you,

What is the best way to keep these computers running cool? They only come with 1 fan, the CPU fan. I installed a new graphics card which comes with 3 fans on it (radeon 6950) and added an 80mm fan at the...

Hello, I am the technician that you be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya Jeffery.

Yes you are quite correct, your upgraded computer system is giving off a large amount of heat, that graphics upgrade is quite substantial.

See these off the shelf PC's from manufactures really don't take the computer gamer's needs into account with regards to cooling. Gaming gear gives off a whole bunch of heat and this heat as you have come to find needs to be expelled quite quickly for a stable and cool gaming computer system.

Here are two possible solutions for this problem:
Option 1.) Installing cooling into the side panel is the easiest, most effective way of cooling your computer's components. I would reccomend installing at least two 120mm fans. What you do is set the one so that the fans hub would sits directly above the CPU. This fan would therefore provide freash cool air from outside the chassis to your CPU cooler.
The second fan would be installed so that the hub sits slightly below the Circuit Board (PCB) of the Graphics card. This fan would therefore provide freash cool air from outside the chassis to your Graphics card. Be sure to check that the fan, once installed over the Graphics card clears the actual graphics card once the side panel is slid closed.
You will need to measure and drill 4 holes for each fan, and then cut out the metal in the middle for air to pass through the chassis side panel. One can buy 120mm fan grills to protect anything large from touching the fan blades, it also makes the mod look smart and finished off. They are bought in crome or black finish. Check your computer store.

Now that the intake is sorted your will need to work on a suitable spot to install exhaust fans. Some-times there is enough space around the rear 80mm fan to drill and fit a 120mm fan. Again you will need to drill 4 holes and cut away the middle of the chassis for the air to pass through the chassis. You will need to check if this option is available to you. Another exhaust option is the top of the chassis for natural convection currents (hot air rising), usually install either 1 or 2 120mm fans depending on the position of the Power Supply, as some are fitted on the top and others on the bottom.
Visit your local computer store for fan mounting; kits, ideas, available fan speeds and airflow rates, purchase fans.

Option 2.) Involves the purchase of a suitable gaming computer chassis. These would be better suited to your gaming setup/needs and have lot's of fan install points. You would want to get one, if you so choose that offers 120mm or 140mm fan mounting options. Usually offering in excess of 3 mounting points. Giving your computer components freash air, thereby decreasing tempreature, increasing performance, reliability and longevity.
There are lot of diffent sizes and styles available.

I would reccomend either Cooler Master 690 series or Corsair.

Take care!

My friend just got a computer and he coud'nt download his games onto it and he could'nt get sound, so he installed a sound card which he says the computer recognised, but when he plugged in his speakers and...

PC does not recognise the card, You have to install the driver of the sound card. Right click on my computer and click Property and then click on Hardware and Device manager. If there is a question mark on the sound device than you have to install the sound card driver. A CD that comes with the sound card. Doubel click on the question mark and just read instruction and do installation. Is that answers your Question? Cheers

Cannot run computer game

Is your Game application in a good condition; can it be played at others computer? In fact some big Games required more graphic Memory e.g 256Mb etc. So read your game system requirement from "readme" that comes along your game CD/DVD hope that may help.
Graphic Memory is different from Physical Memory. AMD has a good graphic memory and is good for gamers

We have a windows vista computer and a game which we havent installed yet because we were wondering if it might damage the game or computer because on the minimum requirments it says that the computer must...

the worst that could happen is that the computer may not run the program. try installing the game, your cd (assuming that's the source of the setup files for the game) should not be affected.

after you install the program try to run it as usual by double clicking the icon to run the program if it doesn't run as expected try this.
1. right click the icon you use to run the game.
2. select properties
3. select the compatibility tab and select an appropiate mode. (ex. windows xp service pack 2)

not completely sure but you may also want to try to run the installation/setup program by changing the compatibility mode so you may be able to trick the program into believing the app/game is being installed on a windows xp service pack 2 system increasing your chances to have the installation running properly.

I purchased Age Empires and when placed into computer nothing happens

Sometimes when you buy a game, they games do not automatically load to install. The easiest way of fixing that. Is to open your "My Computer" and click on the disk drive. Which should say whatever current disc you have in there. In this case it would say Age of Empires. Click on that. The install screen should then come up and and once the game is installed you should be able to play it.

If it does not. Make sure your computer's graphic card is able to run the game. Also check the ram and CPU minimum specs.

The games are in my computer how can i play if i keep gettingtrail has expired

hey mate, sorry but i would have to advise you make a copyright infringement and get cheat or crack codes for your games from the internet,
alternatively you should buy them

but there is always the 3rd road....

uninstall game in question. (make sure you delete the folders afterwards)
open start - > run
type : regedit

this opens the registry find and remove all references to the game in question
re install the games in question as the install will not see any previous installations. (depending on the complexity of the software in question)

if you are really a dab hand at this you could find the installation and expiry entries and constantly renew them, (if it actually has one, it may not however).
Warning: messing with the registry can be fatal to your computer so back it up first (option in file menu)

i have had to do this for software i bought that was necessary to my job when i had to change the settings as the software engieering was not of such a high standard that it could un install itself properly, its really quite a pain to go through the registry, but using the find next function and deleting the entry in question is quite fast once you have identified the correct text string to serch for (one that is unique to the softwae in question)

have fun.
