One of my microwave light under the microwave are blowing off with a big flash. The microwave still working after that, but the other light still on when I press the button to turning off. I decide to change the lamp in the other socket, to see if it could work, but at that time an another spark coming and now microwave are not working anymore. Did they have a fuse somewhere in the microwave, because everything is OK on my electric plug.

If your model is NN-P295SF, then the service manual is here.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line.

Sometimes you get lucky and only a fuse blows, but either can cause a failure on the controller.

We often see this problem on the control panel, which we regularly repair by mail for $39.95 postpaid with a one year guarantee.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

The lights can can be inoperable or stuck on or stuck in "night light" mode. Sometimes this will similarly affect the fan operation or inside light, too.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

LG Microwave Clicking and Flashing

Go for a warranty repair anyway. It may be the magnetron, and the clicking is the big condenser discharging.

Suddenly it does not work. No clock no light up in the panel.

Open the unit. On top where mains come in would be a big fuse normally 10amp , its blown. This is almost always caused by faulty door switches. Also check diode from the big cap to earth. be careful the cap can store high voltages even when unit is off.Discharge capacitor first with a wire to earth.Make sure the unit is off.The fuse will also blow if that diode is blown.they usually go short circuit.

Recently replaced under microwave bulb while light was on (should have been off). Loud pop and now lights under microwave and vent don't work. Fuse issue?

Yes it is a fuse issue. Inside the microwave chassis if you follow the power cord to the fuse block there will either be a 15 A or 20A fuse.

The fuse is Item 47 here:

BEFORE you replace the fuse, check the light bulb socket contacts. Most likely when you changed the bulb the side contact was somehow forced onto to bottom contact. Correct that problem first, other wise the fuse will probably blow again.

You can obtain the fuse at most any Appliance Parts source or Hardware outlet.

I have to ask... Does the microwave work but the fan motor does not? If that is the case you could have damaged the relay on the control board.

Your feedback would be appreciated.

Yesterday, my sharp carousel r-1460 went dead. I took apart the front keypad and replaced the 20amp fuse behind it. the microwave light and fan work. But, when I start microwave to cook something, pop! fuse...

If the 20A fuse is blowing, it is often the high voltage transformer or magnetron. If this is the case, and the microwave is not under warranty, replace it. Residential microwaves are generally considered disposable. Parts and labor are just too expensive. A magntron or transformer can cost more that half the cost of a new microwave.

All controls are dead, but light remains on. Is it a fuse?

well even if it was a fuse dont try fixing it yourself,,,
all the fuses are not the same as a 13 amp plug there mostly slow blow fuses and very short there is a hight power fuse in the but if you try to get at it you may kill yourself trust me on this,,, there is a big capacitor in the unit that holds over 1000 volts, just brush up on it and your are very dead! have you ever seen a stun gun work??????? well this cap is its very big brother
and it will bite you realy hard, thats if you ever fell it?
my advice is,, get a guy in to fix it for you, pricy yes
but how much is your life worth? £50 ?????
play this one on the safe side

Fuese blows

Yes, the most likely culprit to blowing your fuse is the magnetron itself. It is defective and causing an overload each time it comes on. If you do replace the magnetron replace the large electrolyctic capacitor (that is the big one that the magnetron connects to also) so that you do not have to do double the work. Alot of these magnetrons and capacitors are interchangeable as long as you can set them in place with screws. I do not what type of supply house you have but alot of people throw away microwaves with these parts still usable. Good luck.
