It will unexpectedly shut down with the error number 1073741819. NT Authority\system C\windows\system services exe

Try starting up in Safe Mode. When the computer turns on , immediately begin hitting F8 like mad until you get a screen where you can use the arrow keys to select how to start up. Use "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking".

If you can boot up fine without the error, then you have a program installed which starts up along with Windows and crashes, causing Windows to shutdown. Check your installed programs, especially anything you might have removed/added right before this started happening.

If you can't start up in Safe Mode either, there may be something wrong with your Windows installation.

I am not able to install any antivirus in my pc.what to so ?

First, let's see if you can download and run your Anti-Virus Program in Safe Mode. Safe Mode is a diagnostic feature built into Windows to help diagnose problems - particularly problems encountered at startup. When you start windows in Safe Mode, Windows loads only the programs and files necessary to start and run Windows. All unnecessary drivers are not loaded, so certain Windows features may not be available, however, if Windows boots (starts up) in safe mode, you know that your machine is not "brain dead" and you have a basically functional computer.
To start Windows in Safe Mode, start tapping the F8 key as soon as you apply power to your PC. Continue tapping until you se a menu titled "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Using the arrow keys, scroll up until Safe Mode With Networking is highlighted and then press the Enter key. You will see a lot of messages scroll down across your monitor screen. After about a minute you should see a Desktop Dialog box stating "Windows is running in Safe Mode." Click on "Yes" to continue, and Windows will start up in Safe Mode.
Now try to download and run your Anti-Virus program. If it will not load or run, it's because a virus has control of your operating system and is blocking your attemps to remove it. You will have to take your PC to a Computer Technician who will be equipped with the necessary tools and software to remove your virus. Your only other choice is to use your System Restore CD to completely re-format your hard drive and restore your PC to the state it was in when you first got it. NOTE: This will delete all data on your hard drive and you will have to re-install all software programs that you installed on the machine since to first got it.

When i try to install googlechrome i get error code=0x80040909

First, ensure the Windows installation is not in Windows Audit Mode.

Windows Audit Mode is used by PC manufacturers to setup a new installation template for your computer. When I re-installed my laptop's Windows image, it was in Windows Audit Mode. To put Windows in a Normal mode, please try the following:

1. Go to the Start menu, and where it says Search Programs and Files, enter the following in that box: regedit
2. You will see the REGEDIT program icon, click it
3. Windows will ask if you're sure, click OK.

Now you have the Registry Editor open. Double-click the following to find the value we need to change (called STATE):
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- SOFTWARE
- Microsoft
- Windows
- CurrentVersion
- Setup
- STATE

Right-click on STATE
Select Modify.
Delete the value (so it's blank)
Click OK and close the Registry Editor.

At this point, I tried the Chrome Stand-alone installer, and it still did not work.

So, I installed another browser (Firefox), and made that browser the default for my Windows 7 installation. Then, using Firefox, I tried the regular Chrome installer at www.google.com/chrome, and it worked perfectly.

Hard drive will not completely finish installing Vista Sp1.

Try booting in Safe Mode (press F8 during startup). Once in safe mode, see if you can see the update in the Add/Remove programs from the Control Panel. Make sure the select the "View updates" checkbox.
If it is there, try uninstalling it before you boot in regular mode again.

While in Safe Mode, also disable the automatic Windows update. You can then try to install it manually from the Microsoft site instead.

Microsoft has some more ideas on how to fix SP installation.

I have a problem to install window 98 .

Another solution is to download and install Microsoft Virtual PC in XP, create a Virtual PC drive, and install Windows 98 onto the Virtual PC drive. This works fine if you want to run Win 9X programs which don't require access to USB ports on your computer. If you need Windows 98 to have full access to all of the computer hardware, then use palaboy's solution.
