Hello carmen_alley,
This means the memory test process failed due to a bad module. DIMM ( Dual In-line Memory Module ) is the memory of your printer. It is really similar to computer RAM (memory).
If the printer is under warranty I would contact the manufacturer for a repair/replacement. If it is not, I would still contact them and get further information on what DIMM you would need to purchase to replace the bad one.
Hope this helps!

Mem test failure replace dimm 1

As the message says, DIMM 1 failed.
It's pretty straight forward fix for a tech.
So the cost should be minimal for the labor and whatever the
replacement DIMM costs.

My printer shows memory error on its screen why?

Mem test failure replace Dimm 0 or Mem test failure replace Dimm 1
If either of the are the messages displayed, the problem lies with the mother board (formatter).
DIMM 0 = On Board Memory - cannot be changed. DIMM 1 = Add On Ram - Can be Changed
Make Sure the printer firmware is up to date FIRMWARE
Most Likely the formatter board would require replacing.

Problema con impresor hp laserjet p3005, da mensaje "MEM TEST FAILURE REPLACE DIMM 0", y cuesta que en el panel de control aparezca preparado.

Hello, this error related to the additional memory installed into the printer. It could be just the memory or the Formatter board itself. The memory can can be removed quite simply.
1) Turn the power off to the printer.
2) Slide the right side cover off, moving it towards the back.
3) Remove the memory DIMM from the formatter board.
4) Turn the power to the printer back on.

Does the printer come "READY"? If yes, then the memory is bad, If NO then the formatter is bad and will need to be replaced.

Mem test fail replace DIMM1

This error indicates that either the formatter has failed, or if you have additional memory installed it is bad.

Keeps dispalying mem test faliure 1/6 replace dim 0?

Somewhat common failure code on the P3005 machines. Unfortunately this means that your formatter board has failed. Your machine MAY be repaired under warranty depending on it's warranty date with HP. Just contact HP and give them your printer model and serial number and have them check the warranty status. Trust me in what I am telling you, HP has had a large number of P3005 formatter board failures. If you want more info just do a google search on "HP P3005 formatter" or "HP P3005 dimm 0" and you will see this is a problem.
Good Luck and Thank You using Fixya.

Mem Test Failure Replace Dimm

The biggest problem with the P3005 is the main board. There has been a warranty extension on the P3005 if it is the main board.

it maybe a memory problem too, but unless you added memory, its usually part of the main board.
