I don't think it's overstretched - it's completely loose and separate from the rest of the machine - I don't know where to re-thread it or what it goes around

  • keysandbass Aug 23, 2008

is there anything online that shows the inside of the machine or the belt path? everythign seems to be working and present -

  • keysandbass Aug 24, 2008

Thanks, but seems like it should be easier than that

  • keysandbass Aug 24, 2008

Perfect - exactly what I needed to know and already working....many thanks.

The belt looks like its very cheap, but if it is over streched and breaks.then the new one would be very costly.so if you take it to the repair center it will help you much.as it would not be too costly .as nothing has broken or damaged till now.still its not to easy to fit the belt manually without perfect knowledge.thanks.please do rate the solution.

You need to mount new belt holder.. Better go to nearest auto mechanic services to adjust or install the belt clip.

i have worked on the crosleys and many other belt drive turntables. so if you can decipher wether the belt needs to be adjusted or wether the belt is overstretched. i can assist you further.

yes im sure i can get you some literature that wont be fore your turntable but will show the process of changing a belt drive belt and how to route it. Which on this model its pretty standard to any model.it generally goes the belt needs to be put through a small guid then wrapped around the motor/trans then you pull it back towards the platters running gear and wrap the belt along the ring for the platter. At which point the platters gear should be on the lowest tension from there you can adjust it to fit snug. but let me find y ou some pictures showing the process in detail.

    thanks,
    Nate

    General turntable belt installation instructions:
    1.) Remove rubber pad/mat.
2.) Remove platter just beneath mat.
    2b)
Some platters are "press fit" onto the center shaft and seemingly can't
be removed, the trick is to lift up on the platter while simultaneously
lightly tapping on the top of the shaft with a hammer. While others may
have a "E" clip at the base of the center shaft which must be removed
with a screwdriver, with care that it doesn't fly away before the
    platter can be removed.
3.) Use rubbing Alcohol soaked cloth to
clean outside of large 'lip' or ledge underneath platter and the
(usually) brass pulley shaft on platter drive motor which should now be
    visible.
4.) Install belt around the ledge underneath platter. Belt should be somewhat snug without falling off.
5.) Optional: Clean then Lube main center platter shaft of turntable with 3-in-1 oil or similar.
    6.) Re-install platter.
7.) look thru 'access window' in platter and rotate platter until platter motor becomes visible.
8.) Stretch belt from platter ledge over to far side of motor pulley.
9.) Re-install mat and start player.

How do i replace belt on ariens

The best method is remember pulleys with flat sides run on the outside of the belt and "V" shaped pulleys run inside the belt. The owner's manual should show belt routing or go to www.ariens.com and download a parts list. This should help you determine the belt path.

When I pull back on the vacuum cleaner, it leaves a line of pet hair/dust at its furthest forward point - each time!

Hi there, SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. What you are describing is a pretty common problem, it is normally caused by a blockage or a brocken belt, or if you are really unluck ..both. Take the base plate of the bottom of the vacuum (part that kind of covers the brush) and check your belt and air path. 9 times out of 10 this is where your problem will be. Clean the pathways and away you go.
Happy Vacuuming :)

Hi my proheat bissell 7901 stopped pumping water to the floor, but it pumps water from the hand hose. I read the manual and followed how to check belt and the flat belt on right side of shampooer is fine...

just taken ours apart with the same problem... found it was caused by the 2 halves of the main casing coming apart in the area where the upright pedal release is. I found this to be due to the upper casing having broken in 2 places - the bottom of the screw wells. This means that the water tank cannot exert sufficient pressure on the valve to release the water. Only solution is a new top cover assembly

My kenmore clothes dryer has stopped spinning and is just making

The pulley in question is likely a spring loaded idler pulley, used to keep tension on the belt. It likely hangs onto the dryer's frame, & is held in place by the belt. If you order a new belt from Sears, ask them for a belt path diagram, which should show the proper pulley position.

I need to replace the dryer belt

The belt on a dryer is inside the body, usually accessed and changed as follows

most base dryers
  • unplug dryer(220v is Not Fun)
  • remove lint screen
  • undo screws inside lint screen holder, screwing it to case lid (so lid can tilt up)
  • with putty knife or other blunt blade, release spring catches under front corners of case lid
  • raise case lid
  • remove screws 1/3 way down front corners of body holding front panel on
  • remove door switch cable from door switch
  • lift door off set aside
maytag
  • remove screws from bottom bend of front panel
  • lift front panel off
  • remove doo switch cable
  • sent front panel aside
  1. drum motor felts and bearings are now accessible.
  2. lift drum and withdraw fully forwards
  3. with drum removed check support rollers for free movement, check drum slides and/or drum felts for wear, easier to replace now, if worn, than have bearings or slides cause belt to break again.
  4. loop belt loosely around drum at wear marks from prior installation
  5. reinsert drum onto rollers bearings slides felts as installed.
  6. loop belt around motor pulley
  7. pull tensioner pulley against spring to end of its travel
  8. loop belt around tensioner pulley
  9. relax tensioner pulley to tighten belt
  10. rotate drum by hand to ensure belt is aligned
reassemble case in reverse order.

Notes
There are not many belt, felt, support roller sizes the local parts guy will have a belt, felt, roller to fit,

Tensioner pulley may not be in place, breaking belts often pull them out of their mounts, the pulley and spring will be lying on the case floor, there is only one way they fit in to their mounts so they are easy to reinstall

tensioner sketch is approximate, pulley may be on top run pulling down, or bottom run pushing up

the repair is easy, it takes longer to type or read this than it does to repair the dryer

Belts ~$14 Support Rollers ~$14/pair, felts/slides upto ~$25
New dryer +$200 - its a good repair

Kenmore Series 80 Dryer. Heats doesn't spin clothing. Imagine its a belt or spin motor. Need a schematic

No need for a schematic, there are two kenmore dryer belts, 'full size' or 'apartment size', if it is a belt you will be able to here the motor racing unloaded, turn heat to cold before testing, dont want to blow a thermal fuse.

Kenmore dryer comes apart from the front,
  • UNPLUG dryer 220V is not fun
  • remove the lint screen
  • remove the screws under the lint screen holding the case top to the screen holder
  • with a putty knife or other blunt blade release the catches at the front corners of the top and raise top
  • remove screws holding front of case on, from inside the dryer
  • remove door switch cables
  • lift front of case off and set aside,
  • can reach motor, belt, felts and rollers.
  • broken belt will be obvious, lying on the floor
If belt is broken, examine rollers and felt bearings for wear, stuck rollers or no felt left, is the most common cause of belts breaking, extra tension is required to spin the drum, If damaged replace them, they are cheap and easy to do, and it woud be no fun if another belt broke quickly

reasemble after repair in reverse order.

BELT WON'T TURN THE DRUM

there is a tensioner pulley as well as the drum and motor
It hooks into a slot, usually on the floor of the case, and has a spring that pulls it against the belt to tension the belt.
Broken belts have been known to knock the tensioner out of place, it should be sitting on the floor of the case as should its spring.
There is usually ony one slot for it to sit in, self evident if you know to look for it
loop the belt around the drum.
slide the belt down the drum directly over the motor pulley
loop the belt around the motor pulley
pull the tensioner pulley hard to the end of its travel against its spring
wrap the belt around the tensioner pulley
release the tensioner so the spring pulls it against the belt
rotate the drum by hand to ensure the belt is aligned and does not pull offf the pulleys
reassemble case
dry clothes
its easier than it looks seeing a broken belt in the bottom of the case.
fd5c779.jpg tensioner may be on the bottom run pushing up, or on the top run pulling down

Eureka Smart Vac Brush not rotating when touching floor

Sounds like either the belt wasn't routed correctly or the idler clamp asm.(part # 704194CSV) has a problem. There should be a diagram showing the belt placement either by the belt or on the inside of the cover.
