Turbo boost is up around 60LBS. sluggish performance from take off when boost is high.now this is the one thats got me scratching my head . a/c blows hot air until speeds reach 25-30 mph. then it works great until you apply the brakes then a/c blows hot again.all this only occurs when turbo boost is above 25 LBS.

Chec for a stuck open wastegate.

  • Anonymous Jun 29, 2011

sorry, i should have said a wastegate that stuck closed. 60 psi is too much boost. not positive on a diesel, but other rams have vacuum controled doors. Diesels usually don't make intake vacuum, so i would find out what is supplying vacuum for the hvac doors. the ac may also be cutting out when you are in an overboost condition.

thanks i discovered that vehicle has an exhaust type brake installed .solenoid valve was stuck in between on &off so it was getting a false signal. repairing that sensor took care of the boost problem but i still have an issue with the a/c blowing hot air. So if anyone out there knows how i can resolve this issue please let me know.thanks Tim Autrey

1992 Peterbilt 379 feels sluggish pulling load up hill and is blowing black smoke

have a turbo boost pressure test done under load on a chassis dyno
under load the boost should be right up
check for leaks in the intercooler hose fittings or cracks in the intercooler
black smoke under load indicates a faulty turbo or turbo air leaks.

Losing boost!! I have a 1993 mazda rx7 13b twin turbo with the stock turbos. When i punch it my boost goes up to about 10psi. But bleeds off and i can head it blowing out. Was thinking it was blow off...

Have you checked all the tubing cuplings? When mine was doing that i had a cupling that would keep sliding off just enuff that it was letting out air and loosing me boost.

I have an talon esi I I put a intercooler blow off valve cool air intake I am about to put a 14b turbo in and I was wondering how much boost it will handle with out blowing up I got bigger injectors coming...

There are dsm forums in which you can get good help and support for this. I believe stock they can handle 10-13 psi. Before I would increase the boost to anything over that I would replace the internals with performance parts and change out all of the studs( head, exhaust, and intake) with ARP performance studs and also change the gasket set to a high performance set to. Also you will have to get a programmer to change how the cpu is running the engine for the increase in fuel. There is alot involved when tuning a car and one wrong move you can kiss that motor goodbye. This would be a good place to start learning the in's and out's of tuning your specific car..........http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/
also get a balance shaft eliminator kit it will save your some trouble and free up a couple of horses.

2005 Neon engine light came on and stays on. Car drives okay. Has around 34,000 miles. No other problems

Take it to Autozone or Advanced auto and get an engine diagnostic and ask them to printout the results. Most times it's a sensor.

Saab 9000 automatic cse boost valve

HI need to no if your car has a turbo gauge if not then the cr is a LPT light presure turbo expain why u have not got a lot of power
if you have got a turbo guage then u can do more too to car to improve it
the valve your looking for is a APC valve that controls the turbo boost
i would recommend a ECU upgrade to avoid engine problems that will cost you more in the long run

I want to put Turbo to my Golf GTI VR6 98', what changes my engine needs? it needs new pistons? it needs special gasket?..... which is better for it, Turbo or Supercharger?

the amount of money and time it would require to turn your N/A (naturally aspirated) into a forced induction car(turbocharger, or supercharger), you would require the buttom end to be built, fueling, exahust, ecu(computer) forged rods/pistons/ then the turbo or super charger, also alot more, if you go to vwvortex.com and click on the forums and look around, you can see the different setups people are running on their VW's AUDI's
