I have a singer-inspiration machine and it appears that the thread keeps getting caught up in the bobbin area so my thread birdnests. I am new to sewing and this is a new machine.

"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.

Bobbin tread bunches and jams machine

If the bobbin is inserted with the thread spinning the wrong direction this will cause "birdnesting" - thread build up under needle plate, you need to cut thread to get the item off machine. flip the bobbin over into the case and try again. Also make sure you remove ALL thread caught up in "Birdsnest" when they happen.

The thread gets caught up in bobbin area

This mess is commonly referred to as a bird's nest or 'birdnesting' and it's usually caused by incorrect top tension and that's often caused by the top thread not in the correct path. (For me, I occasionally forget to thread through the take-up lever.) A damaged needle can also cause birdnesting.

I just got a new Singer Simple. I had a problem with the needle thread getting caught in the bobbin shuttle. I disassembled this area, found a random thread, and cleaned it out. I put it all back together...

Do you have the bobbin thread going the right way, according to owners manual some go clock wise some go counter clock wise when you pull the thread after bobbin inserted in bobbin case

Threading problem on Singer Sewing machine Inspiration 4206

This can be caused by incorrect bobbin tension or the bobbin is in backwards. Take out the bobbin and put it in according to the instructions for your Singer. If you still have the same problem try tightening the bobbin tension. Please ask if you have any questions.

Tangled bobbin thread

Okay. I had this problem too. try taking the bobbin casing out. I had a bit of thread lintg caught in a remote area of the under-plate area. Blow it out with canned air and oil your machine. That should help. It fixed mine.
