My auto doc feeder on my HP 6310 is only grabbing one page out of a set when I load it. I.e. I put in a 5 page letter to copy/scan, it takes the top sheet, copies/scans it, completes the print of that page then stops. It's brand new out of the box. Is there a setting I'm missing???
No,just try to clean the roller of the ADF at the same time the separator pad.make sure that you are using paper that is 24lb weight coz if you are using paper that is so thin if may cause also an issue that the ADF could not pick-up...if the issue is still occuring return/replaced the printer...

Clean all the rollers in the ADF with a damp lint free cloth. Depending on wear, they may need to be changed, but try cleaning first. Where the paper stack rests there will be either a pad or roller, make sure it is clean too.
Unfairly, that feeder has it's own issuse's > it was a very bad design from Canon > It works really good or not at all.... There is a tech pub for a new drive motor for the doc feed belt & new sensors for the paper path..... It may also, be that it needs new adf feed rollers..... Did it work before you got it? If soo, I'd call the person you got it from and have them fix it. Or you can call a service person. The copier is a tad bit old....... Good Luck
Put the pages in the "multiscan" all at once, not just one sheet at a time. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) will feed one sheet of your document at a time untill all of the pages are scanned...
Thanks for using FixYa!
On my scanner, I feed the documents on the ADFfeeder (paper feeder) and when it finishes one scan, I tell it to continue. It will scan all you docs and put it in on file that you can send as one attachment.
Here's a link to the full service manual for your HP 3055. It's too large to post here (15MB) but I've hot linked it for you so you can download it to resolve your issue with the ADF. Look at pages 44 thru 46. Pay special attention to the rubber pad (separation pad) that is under the 2 roller peice as it is what keeps the doc feeder pulling one sheet at a time.
Hope that helps you. If so hit me with a FIXYA, If not send me a message or reply and I'll try and walk you through it.
Loading originals to scan Use these instructions to load originals into your device for scanning. For the best quality scans, use the flatbed scanner. See Selecting media for the automatic document feeder (ADF) for guidelines on choosing original documents for scanning. Loading originals onto the flatbed scanner 1. Make sure that the automatic document feeder (ADF) input tray is free of media. 2. Lift the flatbed scanner lid. 3. Place the original document face-down on the flatbed scanner with the top, left corner of the document at the lower-right corner of the glass. 4. Gently close the lid. 5. The document is ready to be scanned. CAUTION To prevent damaging the device, do not allow the scanner lid to fall onto the flatbed scanner surface. Always close the scanner lid when the device is not in use. Loading originals into the automatic document feeder (ADF) input tray Note The ADF capacity is up to 50 sheets of 75 g/m2 (20 lb) media (depending on the thickness of the media), or fewer sheets if the stack fills the ADF. The minimum size for media in the ADF is 127 by 127 mm (5 by 5 inches). For smaller sizes use the flatbed scanner. The maximum size for media in the ADF is 215.9 by 381 mm (8.5 by 15 inches). 1. Make sure that the flatbed scanner contains no media. 2. Close the flatbed scanner cover and put the top end of the stack of originals into the ADF input tray, with the media stack face-up and the first page to be scanned on top of the stack. 3. Slide the stack into the ADF input tray until it does not move any farther. If this helps you, let the Boss, FixYa.com Know...
