JVC GR-DVM55U Error E06

Hey
I have about a 5 year old JVC Video Camera. I have a E06 Error Code coming up when I turn on the camera. The code says...remove and reattach battery/unit in safe guard mode. The battery seemed to be working fine before this error came up. Any suggestions?

Is my "E06" error code not related to the battery. Also, if it needs professional repair is a 5 year old JVC worth getting fixed? Any idea what it would cost for repair? I would have asked Coolguy but I couldn't figure out how to reply under the same problem.

Seems its the result of a tape jam. If you can remove the tape, you can reset the unit.Having it fix still worth and that shouldn't causde you that much...

Hope that helps.........

HI,

"E06" it is the carriage mechanism that has failed. and will not carry the tape to the heads and thus is not passing the sensor that tells you if the tape is in position and then telling the unit as it should there is fault.
take it to the nearest dealer and get it fixed.

Hey There! philips dvdr3370h After 2 years of no problems. disc stuck in drawer - fixed that Now , none of my discs will play. "error - incorrect region code" PLEASE Help! Thanks! Ben.

Try and see if this will work...

1-Power on the player.
2-Ensure disc tray is empty.
3-Wait for (no disc)to be displayed.
4-Enter 0086000 with the remote control ,then press ok.
5-Then enter with the remote control 00009 then ok
this should verify you have region 0
if it does all is ok.
6-Then you need to push system menu button.
7-The first page you come to will be general
you need to change the video output to ntsc, dont worry it will revert back to pal when you exit system menu..and only has to done once to set the hack.
THIS HAS TO BE DONE TO ALLOW HACK TO READ ALL TYPES OF DISCS E.G NTSC AMERICAN.

I hope this helps.
Plz let me know^^ Goodluck!

Some recommend cleaning the heads to solve the problem. Others suggest tapping it on the side. You might check with JVC to see if there is an extended warranty.
