Why do I get (Windows unable to complete format) when i try to burn a ****

Sounds like your DVD Drive has a problem writing and might need to be replaced. Try just putting in a DvD Movie and see if it plays the movie. If so, then try putting in a blank DvD and just write something simple to it such has a document or one music file. If the record mechanism is bad it will fail on the write. My computer volume was suddenly stop working while i was watching movie, i checked all volume set ups but didn't work so please solve that problem

1. Was this a movie that came from a video store or was this movie on the hard drive?
2. How old is your PC and or your DVD optical drive?
3. This could be due to a bad burn ( the movie that is)
Some movies that are burned sometimes are interrupted and therefore will create a "halt" state on some DVD players and some PC DVD burners.
4. Also dirty DVD's will halt a movie in progress the laser is try to read the data through multiple finger prints or grease
5. Washing the DVD with dish washing liquid ( a drop or 2) and the rinsing and drying thoroughly usually renders the DVD playable again. Do not use hot water on the DVD disk it will warp the disk.

I can burn movies onto my pc & make a cd ,they don't work

it's because you are using cd to burn the movies on to and not dvd. your dvd will only read movies from dvd. I know it seems like if you put movies on a cd it should read in a dvd player, but since its not on dvd disk, then it will not play.

My dvd driive in my computer won't play dvds

Do you mean DVD movies wont play? If so you need to install DVD software. Use Google to search for some or buy some e.g. PowerDVD.

I have tried to burn dvd from movies that I have bured

if you are trying to burn movies that you have previously burned ,all you need to do is, use the copy function in you burning software ,ie
copy from dvd drive "D" to dvd drive "E" , or if you only have one drive
copy from dvd drive "D" to "D" and the program will tell you when to replace the dvd disc with a blank one,so it can write to it.
replace the drive letter in quotation marks with your actual drive letter,

note: quotation marks are not used.

good luck & please rate my efforts

Movie download

The movie you had downloaded is in AVI or divx format ....for that you need to have a divx enabled DVD Player.......
If your dvd player does't support DivX format .... it won't play it..
Try running that movie in DivX enable DVD Player

Dvd burning

Load software9 install). I.E Nero ( my preference) or Roxio or something similar. Your Drive must be an actual DVD Burner -R or +R/ RW. buy the same kind of blank DVDs that go with the drive.

Example. ( DVD-R/ RW) would mean you need to buy DVD's that are -R, ( DVD +R) you would need +R dvd's. Go to wallmart and just ask for someone in electronics to get the ones you need.

get into the program and its usually self explanitory, theres usually options to " Create DVD VIDEO, DATA DVD,) If you want it to play just like a DVD Movie, you need to first have the DVD movie on your PC in a some knd of recognizable format. Nero is good at converting it easily but they also have advanced options as well. If the software has a WIZARD mode, i suggest you use it as WIZARD mode is the user friendly version that cuts out all the advanced options so as not to confuse newbies.

Now if your trying to Burn a DVD straight from a DVD, bassically Copying a DVD movie, which is Illegal but im sure you know that and you would never do that right?

Well lets say you need to, Most DVD's have copyright software that prevents you from copying them but new programs and plugins can get around that. You can try using the " exact Copy feature " in Roxio but it may or may not work. now if your looking into copying DVD's that are copyrighted, i would suggest you study it yourself as explaining it online takes a long time. Your better off downloading it from The Pirate bay dot com, already converted and just burning it to disk. Ths of course is still illegal and i dont encourage this in any way;)

Hope this helps
