Red blinking light usually means that the battery has not been charged, or has not been charged enough. Make sure to charge it all the way to turn on your camera.

What lens are you using? There might be issues with the contacts, therefore - using a dry clean, non abrasive cloth, try wiping the contacts on the lens - as well as the camera body. and see what that does.

Canon T2i freeze

This is a common "glitch" of the motherboard on that model or series camera from Canon. either send it back for the motherboard replacement (not a repair, a replacement) if still under warranty or simply get the board on line and do it yourself, which if you ask me, it is a pretty messy and difficult job. I rather build a PC from scratch!!

Rebel T2i won't power on

I had this problem and thank you to the gent that suggested there was a battery compartment closing detection mechanism. I have a battery grip and had removed that to register my t2i (needed the serial number on the bottom) and never checked operation after replacing. I toyed with the lever using a pen and noticed the red light flicker. I replaced the battery grip with batteries and all is well.
Sometimes we need a nudge to dig deeper... I had looked at the possibility of a door closed switch much the same as the the switch on the sd card door. I took a second look and found it. Thanks a million for jogging my analytical brain!

Canon T2i viewfinder issue

Try increasing the ISO rating, see if that gives you a different reading - you may indeed be underexposing if there is insufficient light

Canon EOS 550D won't turn on

If you have Magic Lantern installed on your camera and it won't turn on, all I had to was re-format the SD card. Works perfectly now. You just need to get rid of ML.

I recently purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3i SLR camera (July 2011) and already I am encountering a problem called "Err 05 the built-in flash could not be raised." Does anyone know how to resolve...

Hey Leo,

Unfortunately the problem you've mentioned is quiet common with your particular model.

Here's what Canon recommends, on its website.

-Turn the power switch to < ON > to turn on the power again.

And, if that doesn't work. Buddy, you'll have to drop by a service center. Hurry up, or you'll run out on the warranty period.

Toodles,

I'm trying to upload the pictures on my Canon EOS Rebel T2i and the red light is blinking with nothing coming up on my computer... please help!

red blinking is memory card activity so should wait. try putting the camera into playback mode when connecting to a computer and computer should come up with a range of options. if all things fail go get yourself a memory card reader and take the card out of the camera and transfer your photos that way. its better on your cameras battery life and its quicker
