You should have recieved a 3.5mil stereo lead for this it is blue on one end (L shaped) and green on the other. If you are not using any other speakers then plug either end in the green audio socket on the monitor and the other end connects to the green audio ouput on your computer.

ignore the fact one end is blue.

Hope this helps.

Since you don't clarify what exactly your monitor model is, I can't tell you that it has (or not) sound capabilities. Either clarify me the exact model or make this simple test: check at the back of the monitor if a small green hole (connector) 3,5mm diameter exists. If you can locate it your monitor has the audio capabilities and you have to connect this connector with the same green connector at the back panel of the computer case using a cable like this:
In case you don't have a cable like this you can find at any computer or electronic shop, or buy on line for about 2$ to 7$, depending on how long the cable is.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Sound no longer comes out of monitor. I believe nothing is muted. I replaced cable between monitor and desktop. Any suggestions.

You didn't provide a model for your Envision monitor, so I can provide specifics - but here's a few things to try: (1) Start an audio program on the computer (mp3, CD audio, movie, etc. (2) Disconnect the audio patch cable from the computer's speaker jack and plug in stereo headphones. Adjust the volume on the computer's audio control panel to set the volume. If you're not receiving any sound - make sure you're plugged into the speaker jack (this is often the green jack). If you now hear sound, continue to (3). If you are unable to hear any sounds - your problem is INSIDE the computer. More on this later. Continue to the next step. (3) Disconnect the headphones and try the audio patch cable between the computer and monitor again. Make sure you're using a stereo cable - it has 2 individual contact points on the plugs - mono cables have just two. Pay close attention to the jacks if more than one are offered on the monitor (some monitors have power output jacks, etc.). Select the "LINE IN" or "SPEAKER IN" jack on the monitor. Be sure the plugs are firmly seated into the jacks on both the monitor and computer. (4) Check the menu settings of the monitor to make sure that the speakers are enabled (or not disabled as the case may be).

if you were unable to hear audio in step (2) above, there is a problem with the audio circuit in the computer. Some things to check are: Is there a volume knob on the sound card that is turned to minimum? Are (all) the correct drivers installed for the sound card in control panel? Is the sound card enabled? Does the sound card have a problem indicated by an "x" or "!" on the icon in control panel? Many times, "uninstalling" the device in control panel and the "scanning for changes" to reinstall will solve the problem. Other times, it is an output device issue: Have you selected "Speakers" as the output (not HDMI or Digital Audio).

If still unable to get sound working, provide the Envision model number along with computer name & model or the sound card name and model. If the sound is built into the motherboard, provide the mother board name and model. With that info, it will be easier to get the info you need.

Hopefully, you got the sound working with the tips I provided above. Please rate my reply. Thanks.

Why do I not have sound after installing new hard drive?

You donot have sound after the new harddrive as you might have not installed the audio drivers on the system.
To check , go to device manager and check for any yellow bangs or question marks next to any devices.

Use the link below , enter the desktop or laptop product number and click on drivers. Download the audio drivers

HP support website

If you have difficulty locating the drivers. Reply with the desktop or laptop model that you are using. I would send you the direct link

I have a Yamaha RX-V992 receiver and I would like to install a Bose 901 active equalizer Where will I connect this to my receiver? Thanks Mark

Basically here are the connections you have to do:
In case you don't have tape recorder forget the "box" named tape recorder. Your RX-V992 is the box named receiver or preamplifier. You have to connect with RCA - RCA cables the tape out from the RV-X992 to Bose input, and the Bose output to tape in at RV-X992. With the setup connected like this whenever you choose from the RV-X "tape monitor" you will hear the sound equalized from Bose; if you disable the "tape monitor" switch you will hear without any equalization.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Hi its about a monitor

See if you can change the video cable and get the same problem. Make sure it is plugged in securely (both video and power cords).

If same thing happens with a different cable try a different monitor. Maybe if you don't already have another one, someone you know can let you use theirs for a day.

If neither option works, it's probably your video card. If changing the monitor works then it's probably your monitor either going bad or try reinstalling the video driver on your computer.

Let me know if anything works, I hope this helps
