The brew light does not light, and the coffeemaker doesn't function, tho the clock and programming functions are intact. It worked fine yesterday.

well given its age and use I would consider just replacing it given its only about 50$, these things are basically considered "throw away" items these days.

Come on guys! The above is not a FixYa solution! I don't have a solution, but guessing that "It sounds like it may be defective" is worth precisely zero!

I had the same problem as the original poster, and followed the "set to brew and press and hold all three buttons routine suggested as a solution to a slightly different problem posted here on FixYa, and some how I got it to work again. So it is a programing or switch position problem of some sort. Come on guys! The above is not a FixYa solution!
