If it can-not read the sd card try using a different one if the same problem persists means the sd card reader is faulty and will need replacing by either sending it back to acer to have them change it or by checking ebay to see if a replacement one is available at a cheaper rate if your computer is out of warranty

Won t recognize sd card

It seems that the card reader if the computer is not detecting the card. Make sure that the memory card you use is supported.
The multi-in-one card reader on the Aspire One can read and write to Secure Digital card (SD), Secure Digital High Capacity card (SDHC), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO), and xD-Picture Card (xD). Specific models of the Aspire One are also equipped with an SD Expansion slot that can read and write to Secure Digital (SD) and Secure Digital High Capacity card (SDHC) cards.
The multi-in-one card reader on the Aspire One can read and write to miniSD, microSD, Memory Stick Duo,and Memory Stick PRO Duo cards but require the use an adapter. Acer does not provide or support any memory card adapters.
You can try removing the card reader using the device manager and the reinstall it and check the operation. You may also try using the card is different computer and check. Also try using another card in the computer with the issue and check. If the issue is not resolved please revert back with the model number.

I have a PNY usb 2.0 combo. The usb ports work fine and read external drives etc. The SD readers quit working. The SD cards read fine on the internal mounted reader. My PC recognizes the drives, and t

I bought a deer cam (trail camera) at Walmart and a PNY card with PNY Multi-Slot USB & Flash Card Reader P-UBSDRDR21K-RF. I can't make them all work for me. PNY card reader has no instructions on the package neither on their website and their support is a joke. When I plug in this multi-slot card reader into my PC (I tried two different PCs) something isn't right. I get no results, just empty folders. The card is new and has data on it. Both products come from PNY, both were purchased at Walmart and both are going back to Walmart for a full refund and I will never buy a PNY product ever again.

How can i transfer pictures from acer iconia to memory card

This Tablet Personal Computer [PC] takes Micro Secure Digital [SD] Cards. To transfer pictures from a Digital Camera to this PC, if the Camera also takes Micro SD cards, is simply a matter of removing the Micro SD card from the Camera and installing it in the PC's Micro SD Card Slot and then waiting for the PC's AutoPlay function to serve up the photo files stored on the card, which can then be Dragged and Dropped into a photo folder on the PC.

If the Camera takes SD Cards, then a Micro SD to SD Card Adapter is required so that the PC's Micro SD Card can fit in the camera before pictures are taken and then disconnected from the adapter afterwards, for re-insertion in the PC.

If the Camera takes a different type of Memory Card, then a Multi Card Reader might be required, which would be connected to the computer's USB Port and the Memory Card slotted into its matching slot in the Card Reader.

Is there and sd card slot anywhere????

I believe SD card readers plug into the usb, the sd card then plugs into the reader to read.
A permanent sd card slot can be installed in the small floppy disc tray and plugged into the mobo.
But the sd usb option is bone cheap.

How to use the built in 5 in 1 card reader in acer extensa 4230? and how to download music into a sandisk microsd 2gb card using the built in card reader inacer extensa 4230?

I am glad to HELP YOU!

That "5 in 1 card reader" is exactly what it says it is: a UNIVERSAL CARD READER.
All you have to do is to insert the card into the slot and the machine will detect it automatically and will read it.
The microSD cards should be inserted first into a microSD card adapter and after that the both should be inserted into the slot.
As for downloading music right on the microSD card do like this:
# insert the microSD card into its adapter [together should look like a regular SD card]
# insert the adapter into the slot
# the machine will detect the SD card [just wait until it is detected]
# choose your song [mp3, wma etc.]
# right-click on the song and where it asks whre to be downloaded you will choose MY COMPUTER > double-click > the letter corresponding to your SD card.
You're done!
Do the same with all songs.

GOOD LUCK!

Where can I insert my mini sandisk memorycard into my toshiba laptop? I see no slots for it.

If you have no SD slot on your laptop, you will have to buy an external USB SD reader. They typically cost $5-$10, and are readily available online (e.g. http://www.buy.com/prod/micro-sd-sdhc-card-usb-reader-for-1gb-2gb-4gb-8gb/q/sellerid/23962916/loc/101/213271933.html) or in almost any store with a good selection of electronics.

Manual says virtually nothing about adding memory

If it's a newer laptop, generally the maximum is 4 Gigs. If it have an SD card slot, it will take SD cards. Most other cards can be made to work with an SD card slot if you buy an adapter. If it doesn't have a card slot, you can buy a multi-card reader for USB for under $20.

Multi-media card reader problem

Try pushing in on the card until it clicks, and springs back out. If it is not that type of slot, then pull the card out using a pair of needle nosed plyers (since you obviously can't pull it out by hand). If it looks to require too much force, then you might want to try taking out the screws on the back of the laptop to reveal the card slot, there is an obstruction that is preventing the card from being removed. I had an issue with an SD card getting stuck, and I pulled it, but the pins stayed inside, so use caution & be gentle.

Good luck!
