Question about Mitsubishi WS-65611 65" Rear Projection Television

6 Answers

Picture goes out and I get the message "The connections for RGBHv or yPrPb may be invalid" all the time

My WS 65611 has worked fine for a couple years. I would get the message "The connections for RGBHv or yPrPb may be invalid" once in a while when I switched sources but it would go away and the picture was fine.
NOW when the TV is just operating normally (no switching involved) it blacks out and comes back on in a few seconds with that "The connections for RGBHv or yPrPb may be invalid" message. It stays back on for a few seconds to a few minutes and then repeats.
If I leave the TV off for a while this effect is lessened - sometimes it doesn't come back at all.
The only change I made was I added a box (Brand "Psyclone") to switch the component video. Right after this the problem occurred. I have tried removing the box from the system and going directly into the TV from the dvd player and it seems better but still does it just less frequently.
It really looks like the signal is lost and then reacquired.
If I get a service guy to look at it, my concern is they will not be able to repeat the problem because its intermittent.

How do I get the DM board out?

  • gmoody Aug 24, 2008

I do have experience in soldering and electronics - but how do I get the DM assembly board out?

  • gmoody Aug 24, 2008

I took the board out. I don't see any obvious damage to the capacitors.

    What should I do?

    1) Replace all the caps? I am capable of doing this.
    2) Replace the board? Where can I get this?
    3) Give up, button the thing up and call the shop?

    Please help....

Before "getting anything out" unplug all connections from your tv, including power cable for a couple of hours.
Check if this reset the TV and clears the error.
Do not take apart your TV unless you have experience in servicing electronics.
Eventually call a technician using the phone number printed on owner manual, call out starts from around $80, you do not endanger yourself, and do not risk to destroy your TV completely.

If the problem happened after plugging in new reciver box, you should be able to reset it by leaving tv unplugged.

If this works do not forget to vote the solution.

Please check any internal components first on the circuit board maybe there are burnt resistors or bulged capacitors. If you have seen one you can simply replace it.

Dear,

You could have a problem in the DM board assembly. First thing to do is open it and see if the DM power supply capacitors are swollen or bad. This could be a very costly repair unless you know how to solder and work on printed circuit boards. If you do not, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair.
goodluck dear.

Your input board on the back of the t.v. where the components connect are bad. you need to replace the board. i just went through his with my t.v. it will cost you about 400.00 to get fixed. but that is what the problem is you need to change your input board out.

Ws 65611 will not play HD channels. Screen gets fuzzy like it is trying to focus, then converts to blue screen that states "Check connections or power. The connections for RGBHV or YPrPb invalid" I have...

This model only has one HD input---it has two sets of component inputs on the back and one is marked 480/1080----in the menu it will be the DTV input.

Check to make sure you are not connected to the other component input.

Let me know what happens and let me know exactly where you are connected and what are using for signal.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65611 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Can you help with this error message: "Check connections or power. The connections for RGBHV or YPrPb may be invalid." Getting no picture for any devices connected to the screen.

There is a problem with the Component video cables and/or connection. These are the 5 RCA cables. Red, Blue, Green and two additonal cables for audio in red and white. Be sure they are connected to the proper ports on each end. Not sure what you have connected to the TV with these cables, but HDMI would be best. You also should have selected "Video" from the Input button on the tv's remote. Check these and follow up if possible.

Tv goes off, then comes on, and volume goes to max

OMG! Verizon Fios at it again with changing boxes! Well let me tell you if you do not loose signal on a DVD using these same inputs ITS NOT YOUR TV!

Whats going on is further into Verizon system you loosing the signal from the VDSL slam outside in the pill box. This thing will need to be replaced and they are going to blame your TV until you just give up and buy a new TV only to figure out its not your TV.

1. Call them back
2. tell them to check there network
3. if that dont work tell them to check it again
4. if you have HDMI use that instead of the scart connections.

I hope you have luck with Verizon Fios there internet rules but there TV service is sub par!

Thanks

Picture and sound go out and remote isn't working properly

Take the original Mitsubishi remote and remove the batteries. Install new fresh batteries and then try to operate the set. Do not try to use any of the inputs that are active. Just check menu funtions with the mits remote. All kinda irrational stuff happens when multiple and universal remotes get involved. If this a model remote that has a selector switch at the top for choosing tv/sat/vcr, etc make sure it's on tv.

Error message: check connections or power-the connections for RGBHV or YPrPb may be invalid. The screen is a two tone blue and is flashing.

DO NOT do anything to your Mitsubishi WD-52525 until you read this forum overseen by a Mitsubishi certified repair technician: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/mitsubishi/11703-problem-mitsubishi-wd-52525-scrambled-picture-no-picture-2.html . There has been a worldwide problem in computers and TVs over the past several years with faulty electrolytic capacitors (from Taiwan) that decay, dry out, swell and die. The power supply is often the first component to go bad, but other systems also degrade over time. As the forum explains , this problem is widespread in these sets causing multiple types of display problems after several years of use. Mitsubishi is aware of the problem and will cover most of the cost of repairing the chassis, even years out of warranty, but apparently ONLY if you get an estimate from a Mitsubishi certified repair station and contact their customer support BEFORE doing any work on the set. I just followed the recommended procedure on that forum and Mitsubishi is covering half the cost of my $700+ repair when my 3+ year-old set recently died and showed only a blue screen. I'm not sure if this is your problem, but it might be.
