Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV

1 Answer

G2 wire I ordered a replacement Sony 1-900-803-22 so I can solder it in where the old one broke off. I'll splice it in to the flyback G2 wire since it looks like it doesn't have a plug on the flyback end. I'll let you know how it goes.

No pix. Red LED blinks 2 times. ( sony KV-24FS-100 TVset. )

this is your over current protection B+, there is a short in the power supply of many of the circuits, fuse, diode, etc, check these carefuly with ohm meter....if fuse is open, only replace it with the same rating, make sure tv is not pluged into outlet...if you need to replace parts, use a desoldering iron,to **** off the solder at pin hole of the part being removed from under side of board also look for burnt spots, then you need wire wick to remove and clean in and the pin hole. reinstall is reverce order,,maker sure you make a good connection, and not over solder it ...keep it clean.hope this helps...........

Need to replace the flyback (transformer) is it

good morning friend. it is not very complicated to fix, but it is far more better to allow someone with experience to solve this problem. there will be excess solder on the bottom of the circuit board the connects the flyback. you must desolder this in order to remove it. you need to have a mesh desolder wick in order to completely remove the solder. go over each eyelet( pins from flyback) as many times it take to completely clean it. follow the cords to their different destination and unplug them. write down each location and what you did and go into the reverse order. thank you and pleasew rate my solution.

Flyback Transformer Replacement

ACME has FBT with 1yr. warranty on them. 1-800-575-9833 I have Never had any Problems with flybacks from them.21.95 for part their. DO not get the HR fly they have focus and high voltage wires backwards. Most of the high voltage wires you twisted them out from flyback then reinstall in New one.And the button on end of wire is Anode button that connects in picture tube.

Picture keeps going off anf on, but still have sound

Unfortunately that's an indication of the crt going bad in a Sony.
You can turn the G2 voltage down on the flyback or have a tech rejuvenate the picture tube but either of these are only a temporary fix..
The flyback is the rather large transformer with a red (anode) wire coming from it and attaching to the crt. (looks like a suction cup).
There are two adjustments on the back of the FBT, one is screen (or G2) the other is focus. With the unit on turn the G2 counter clockwise just a little and the picture will get slightly less bright. That should stop the picture from blinking out - or doing so as often. But again, it's only temporary!
Good thing Santa's almost here... :)

Did you adjust the two controls on the new flyback? The top one is almost always the focus control and the bottom is the G2/screen control (brightness) If you adjust the G2 do it until the picture looks normal, too high and you will get retrace lines through the picture.

Pincushion problem

My thoughts would be, was it a Sony OEM transformer or a generic type? If the latter, that is probably a likely suspect. Another thing would be misplaced wires or switches that could have been accidently moved while replacing the transformer. I have had some of these sets that had no high voltage, and all it turned out to be was a broken solder connection on one of the pins going to the flyback transformer. Usually, if the flyback is bad, the Horizontal output transistor would be also defective. It's also possible that in the process of removing the old flyback (fun job wasn't it?) you may have cracked one or more of the circuit traces in that area of the PC board.
