Using Windows 7, after installing V8.x (I've tried several versions as they are updated) when I open the DYMO Label software I get to error messages 1) Access to the path 'DYMO Label\Labels\Printed Labels' is denied and 2) Access to the path 'DYMO Label\Labels\Recent Layouts' is denied. Also maybe noteworthy, there is a DYMO directory in every single sub-folder in my documents folder. When I click "OK" on the error messages, I am able to print, but not save a label.

SOURCE: DYMO Label/Writer is not printing after replaceing labels

DYMO labelwriters use patented labels, anything else would not be recognised by the system. For help - call DYMO support from your country.

SOURCE: Dymo 400 was working fine, then I had to unjam

You probably didn't damage it, it sounds like you may have knocked loose the thermal printing portion (which is the most important part). There is no easy way for you to repair this but Dymo will usually do it for free under warranty. Their phone number is:

SOURCE: Can not install DYMO LabelWriter Software

Sounds like vista to be honest. Either way i think you need to just give that special permissions to access folder. Try that and restart your computer.

Dymo 4XL Label Printer 10% of the time fails to print, says "Dymo 4XL is in an error state" and nothing happens.

If you're experiencing an "error state" with your Dymo 4XL Label Printer, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
  1. Check the connections: Ensure that the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer is securely plugged in on both ends. If using a USB hub, try connecting the printer directly to a USB port on your computer.
  2. Restart the printer and computer: Power off the printer and disconnect it from the power source. Restart your computer as well. After a few moments, reconnect the printer to the power source and turn it on. Wait for it to initialize.
  3. Update the printer driver: Visit the Dymo website and check for any available driver updates for your specific printer model. Download and install the latest driver software for optimal compatibility.
  4. Clear any print jobs: Open the print queue on your computer and ensure there are no pending print jobs for the Dymo 4XL. If there are any, cancel or remove them.
  5. Verify correct label settings: Double-check that you have selected the correct label size and settings in your printing application or software. Ensure that the label size matches the labels you are using.
  6. Check for obstructions or label jams: Open the printer and inspect for any obstructions or label jams that could be causing the error. Remove any stuck labels or debris, if present.
  7. Reset the printer: Locate the small pinhole on the back or bottom of the printer. Insert a paperclip or similar object into the pinhole and press the reset button inside for a few seconds. This will reset the printer to its default settings.
  8. Contact customer support: If the issue persists, it's advisable to reach out to Dymo customer support or consult the printer's user manual for further assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or provide guidance specific to your situation.

Ghin program unable to open dymo. system error 5

Hello,

This sounds like Microsoft issue. However you can try several things to try to solve it.
1. Please make sure that you have full admin rights on the PC, especially to the AppData folder, which is located C/:Users /User name/ AppData/
You need to grant accesses also to the folder Local, where all Dymo related files are stored.
2. You can try to re-install the Dymo Label Software by using the LWSupport uninstall tool, located in: C:\Programs\DYMO\DYMO Label Software\Support. Just double-click it to start the driver removing. Please note that before that, you need to close all running programs.
After that please delete also the Dymo folder under C:/Programs
Then navigate to C/:Users /User name/ AppData/ Local/ and delete Dymo and Sanford folders.
After you do that, you can uninstall the application from Control Panel/ Uninstall Programs.
Restart your PC and download the newest version of Dymo Label Software by clicking on the following link:
http://dymo.li/dls851win

Please make sure, that the device is unplugged during the installation.
I hope this will solve the issue. If not please contact us directly :

Windows vista and dymo labelwriter 450

Here is how to upgrade the software:
1. disconnect the printer and make sure you log in as an administrator. If you need to, back up your contacts: Address Book > Export;
2. uninstall everything that says DYMO (Start > Control Panel > Uninstall) and re-start the computer (back up whatever should be saved);
3. install the latest Windows updates;
4. install DYMO Label 8.5.0: see the download link below(I suggest right-clicking the downloaded file and running it as administrator);
5. connect the printer directly to the computer only when prompted;
7. only use DYMO-made rolls - black stripes on the back, the logo and article number should be there.

tinyurl.com/dymolabel850pc

Also, please go to Start > Devices and printers > right-click the printer > Printer properties > Ports > clear Enable bidirectional support > OK.

We just changed to Windows 7 and the Dymo Label Writer 400 will not work - is there a download or some kind of fix to hook it into Windows 7 Thank you. Lori

Visti this link:

You probably need an update driver for your Labelwriter. You will need to determine if you are using Windows 7 64 bit or 32 bit. You can contact Dymo to ask for further information.
