Hello,

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. To get the sound repair, it can be from $150 and up, so if you can put up with using the good set of Powered PC speakers which actually give better sound than the tiny speakers inside the TV, I would keep using it that way, you may want to find out if the on screen sound setup will allow you to set the audio line out to be VARIABLE which means the sound output feeding the PC speakers can be varied using the TV remote control, then all you have to do is to set the PC volume to about half way up and set the TV volume to what ever you want..

I hope that this will help solve the problem.....

Sound cuts out when sound quality input changes on my rxv1700

Your HDMI version software and hardware will not work with todays version. The current version 1.3b is what works correctly (so far) IT can be upgraded to todays specs however, it's a preicey task for minimal gain if you are viewing any TV smaller than 50". The human eye cannot see the difference between 720p and 1080p on any TV 50 or smaller. That being said, if your TV has multiple HDMI ports, you can sidetrack this issue by connecting directly from the source, ie DVD, BLURAY, etc. then use optical or coaxial digital coaxial to the receiver. I know it's not the best news!! don't Blame Yamaha! it's been the recording industry and copyright protection issues that have overloaded product with "anti-piracy" software to the point you can't view it!. All receivers prior to 09' have multiple HDMI issues. Also, try setting your receiver to "Auto" in audio and running an analog RCA from the source to the receiver as well as HDMI, it may help, however, analog is much louder than digital, and I'm not sure if you can "offset" the volume level for analog in that receiver's settings. So, when you go to a commercial it could be unbearably more annoying than not listening to the commercial at all! Hope this helps.

Front door speakers don't work.

it sound as if the front speaker channel has gone out. You could try disconnecting the power to the cd player, wait 5 minutes and hook it back up. Also, you could try adjusting the fade control from front to back and see if you get any sound, but it really does sound like the channel has gone out
