Question about GE WJSR2070B Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Constant draining I don't know the model # or can even find it , however just today when I did a load of clothes I noticed that the washer drains constantly no matter what mode it is in. A valve problem perhaps or maybe a selenoid?

You may have a simple problem known as "siphoning". The following link explains this to you and how to correct it:

Double check you installation and make sure your drain line has the proper air gap. This is the most common source of this problem. If you read through the link and still have a problem, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Washer leaking from bottom

If this is a front loader, you can take the front panel off under the door and inspect the bottom of the machine, there is a drain and trap with a large plug and the pump. Both need to be inspected and the drain should be cleaned and the debris removed from the trap. Get ready for lots of water though if you take the cap off the drain.

Won't drain properly

Hi Brian ramsden,

So i understand that your washer is not draining properly even after replacing the pump. It drains without clothes but when clothes are in the appliance it will not drain. I suggest that you contact the manufacturer or you local authorized technician for more information and assistance. This way they can get to the root of what is causing your washer to not drain properly.

Washer does not spin out all of the water & we

The symptoms you have are constant with a clogged drain hose or drain pump.

Try draining as much water from the washer as possible. Then take the drain hose off the machine take it outside and run water through it. If this is clear, tip the machine up and take the drain hose off that is inside and do the same, this drain hose connects directly to the pump in front. When you have the hose off look to see if something is in side the pump like a sock.

You have an inner and an outer tub. The outer tub may be holding too much water. The smell may be the soured water in the outer tub. You should take the washer outside and drain it completely. Then replace the drain hose before you put it back inside. Hopefully, this will slove your problem.

Takes almost 2 hours to complete a wash cycle

Have you ever cleaned it out? Its likely due to a plugged drain, not allowing the system to drain fast enough for the normal cycle. Check out my solution on

GE Washer shaking

Check this first: level of machine and all feet secure. Is the machine on a pedestal and is it securely fastened? Are your clothes wet after a spin? I know I stress drain height and hose placement, but todays washers are power misers and this means smaller motors. A pump needs some give at the drain, a slight gap like an old dishwasher so it can pump easier. I feel some water is in the machine and not draining in time causing a vib during spin.
