We are looking into purchasing this travel system and too noticed there were no extra bases to be purchased at the store. I've searched online and 2 people have said you need to call Cosco (since that's who actually makes the seat) for additional bases and they're $35 each. The number is 800-544-1108 and have the make and model information handy. One other person said it's identical to the Eddie Bauer seats so you can buy those bases - I personally would try calling Cosco first and wait on mixing bases/seats as a last resort. All it takes is one slight mis-fitting and to me it's not worth it. Good luck!
I assume you are referring to the Matrix Pro Car Seat that lays flat? You can fit this in two different ways. To fit it sitting upright, make sure it is in the most upright position and facing the back of the car. Pass the lap belt underneath the car seat itself, through the blue catches, then plug it in. The long part of the seat belt goes around the back of the car seat through the blue catch nearest you. Pull it all really tight and it should be more secure. To fit the car seat laying flat, this depends on your car. It needs to use two 3 point seat belts. 2 point seat belts don't work. Plug in both seat belts, and pull the lap belt part through the silver catch on both side. Pull as tight as you can. To make car seat fitting more secure, try placing a slip mat like the Sunshine Kids Grip It or Super Mat underneath to hold it in place. These are all crash tested and safe.
If it is fitted as per the instructions, it may help to put a slip mat underneath the car seat prior to installing it, such as the Sunshine Kids Grip It or Super Mat. They are especially useful for leather interiors.
I would try purchasing one direct from the manufacturer, or popping in to a local Silver Cross stockist. They should be able to get one shipped to you. I wouldn't know how much this would cost though. But I know they are available as spare parts.
I have looked but there are none on eBay at all!
To fit the Jane Capazo Carrycot succesfully, this depends on your car. It needs to use two 3 point seat belts. 2 point seat belts don't work. Plug in both seat belts, and pull the lap belt part through the red catch on both side. Pull as tight as you can. To make car seat fitting more secure, try placing a slip mat like the Sunshine Kids Grip It or Super Mat underneath to hold it in place. These are all crash tested and safe.
