Question about Epson - PowerLite S1+ Multimedia Projector

Epson projector from computer & powerpoint

Hello, i am a new teacher and have an Epson projector and docucamera. Your previous post is helpful so thought would ask you a question: No one seems to be able to help me at my school thus far and there is no book:
I was told to hook up my projector to my ibm desktop computer's monitor slot, thus disconnecting the monitor. However, when i do this i am unable to forward my power point slides to my art class. Only the first slide shows. Someone said i can somehow toggle between the computer view and the view that is projected, thus forwarding slides this way. But, i have seen people use a hand held device to forward slides when i have attending presentations? Also, my computer is at my desk at the back of the classroom but the projector is at the front. Some teachers have purchased long 50' cables to run from projector to their computer so they can somehow switch slides from back of the room. But that is not good teaching practice! Need to be up front! And i hear they are still having trouble as they need a second cable to carry this arrangement off?. I checked UTube to see if there are any videos showing how to hook this equipment up, but didn't see any. So, in summary: any suggestions where i can see how to hook up, how to forward the powerpoint slides, and if there is a better way than sitting in the back of the class (if i can get the monitor and projector running at the same time i could do that if i had to, i suppose).
Hope this makes sense. Please do not publish my name and email. Can you email me directly?

You need a wireless presentation remote that has a transmitter that plugs in to the back of the computer. This can be used to advance the slides. Make sure you get one that states the distance you need.

Let me know if that helps.

SOURCE: my hitachi cpx201 projector says to check the air flow

Hi There Teacher!
the air filter unclips on the left hand side, lens facing out.
after vacumming out the filter see below for filter reset counter procedure
Good Luck!
Turn the projector on and reset the filter time using the FILTER TIME item in the EASY MENU. Before taking care of the air filter, make sure the power switch is off and the power cable is not plugged in, then allow the projector to cool sufficiently. Taking care of the air filter in a high temperature state of the projector could cause an electric shock, a burn or malfunction to the projector. Use only the air filter of the specified type. Do not use the projector without the air filter or the filter cover. It could result in a fire or malfunction to the projector. Clean the air filter periodically. If the air filter becomes clogged by dust or the like, internal temperatures rise and could cause a fire, a burn or malfunction to the projector. WARNING Please replace the air filter when it is damaged or too soiled. When you replace the projection lamp, please replace the air filter . An air filter of specified type will come together with a replacement lamp for this projector . Please reset the filter time only when you have cleaned or replaced the air filter, for a suitable indication about the air filter. The projector may display the message such as ?gCHECK THE AIR FLOW?h or turn off the projector, to prevent the internal heat level rising. NOTE (1) Press the MENU button to display a menu. (2) Point at the FILTER TIME using the ??/?? button, then press the button. A dialog will appear. (3) Press the ?? button to select RESET on the dialog. It performs resetting the filter time.

How do I forward the slides of a powerpoint presentation using the remote?

Make sure that you connect a cable (usually the USB cable is supplied with the projector ) from the computer to the projector. Once communication is established, normal PPT slide advancing is done by pressing the up/down arrow keys (depending on the remote control layout)

My dell d630 laptop wont recognize my infocus lp70+ remote control and I can't advance my powerpoint slides with the remote control

Here's what the User's Manual says:

Using the Remote Control

To advance PowerPoint slides with the projector's remote, you

must connect the USB cable on the projector's computer cable to

the computer. See page 8 for more information.

Point the remote control at the projection screen or at the front or

rear of the projector (not at the computer). The range for optimum

operation is about 30 feet. If you point the remote at the

projection screen, the distance to the screen and back to the projector

must be less than or equal to 30 feet. For best results, point

the remote directly at the projector.

If you are displaying presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint®,

you can use the remote's Previous and Next buttons to navigate

through your presentation while in Slide Show mode.
