Hello, i am a new teacher and have an Epson projector and docucamera. Your previous post is helpful so thought would ask you a question: No one seems to be able to help me at my school thus far and there is no book: I was told to hook up my projector to my ibm desktop computer's monitor slot, thus disconnecting the monitor. However, when i do this i am unable to forward my power point slides to my art class. Only the first slide shows. Someone said i can somehow toggle between the computer view and the view that is projected, thus forwarding slides this way. But, i have seen people use a hand held device to forward slides when i have attending presentations? Also, my computer is at my desk at the back of the classroom but the projector is at the front. Some teachers have purchased long 50' cables to run from projector to their computer so they can somehow switch slides from back of the room. But that is not good teaching practice! Need to be up front! And i hear they are still having trouble as they need a second cable to carry this arrangement off?. I checked UTube to see if there are any videos showing how to hook this equipment up, but didn't see any. So, in summary: any suggestions where i can see how to hook up, how to forward the powerpoint slides, and if there is a better way than sitting in the back of the class (if i can get the monitor and projector running at the same time i could do that if i had to, i suppose). Hope this makes sense. Please do not publish my name and email. Can you email me directly? Sheryl Sheryl_at_home@yahoo.com
You need a wireless presentation remote that has a transmitter that plugs in to the back of the computer. This can be used to advance the slides. Make sure you get one that states the distance you need.
