uninstall it, then reinstall it, without the camera plugged in. DONT plug camera in untill it tells you to, then switch off computer then switch back on this should solve the problem.
You will have to reinstall the Camera Driver. Uninstall the Camera Driver from the Device Manager and then reinstall it. Also, install MSN once you reinstall the Camera Driver.
I have same issue! In you-tube, initiating my built-in web-cam, causes Firefox to crash every time. Registry is clean. Uninstalled Flash, and reinstalled. HELP??

Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the
camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Select “Click to open compatibility wizard” Program Compatibility Wizard To continue, click Next. -------->> I want to choose from a list of programs -------->>Select a program: 913D Camera -------->> Microsoft Windows 95 -------->>640 x 480 screen resolution -------->>Run this program as an administrator -------->>ALLOW Run 913D Camera Software.Should be able to connect and manually download pictures.If not try different OS settings.
Having same issue as above - I thought it was my cable so I ordered a new one. The camera attempts to 'speak' to the pc - and then the Windows box pops up not recognising the USB installed device....I also uninstalled and reloaded the Canon software (had camera for 18 months and only started this rubbish a month back) - was about to re-laod my entire PC - thankfully I saw it was not only me.
Will send mine in for a Firmware update / service.
try downloading the software from the HP website and then reinstall the printer. But also try to uninstall it using control panel add/remove programs, restart your computer, and then reinstall using the downloaded driver.
Sometimes writing it down helps ;]
Uninstall, and reinstall with camera disconnected. Some devices need to be out when installing their software, some need to be plugged in, on some it doesn't matter.
If you're still having problems check if the USB works with other devices, maybe you need to reintall the USB drivers, or maybe its just broken.
