Ultimate Care II Top Load Washer LSQ8543JQO

Hello! My washer will not spin or drain, but it will agitate. It stopped on pause and never went further. When I turn the dial beyond that to rinse, it will agitate again, but then stop.

This is commonly a symptom of a defective lid switch. The switch may be loose or not making good contact. As you open and close the lid, you should hear a "clicking" sound as the lid switch is activated. If you do not hear the switch, check to make sure the lid strike in still intact. This is a small plastic piece mounted on the lid that pushes down on the switch through a slot on the wash tub opening on the right hand side. If this piece breaks off, it will give the same symptoms of a broken lid switch. Next, check the two mounting screws on the right side of the wash tub opening to make sure they are tight. These are the mounting screws for the lid switch. Sometimes they come loose and the switch does not make proper contact. If you attempt all these preliminaries, and the switch still does not seem to be working properly, replace it.

Replacement parts can be found at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and the lid switch will be located under the "Top and Cabinet" heading as item number 11 (part #3949247). The lid strike is listed as item 20 (part #358684). You may also check repairclinic.com. They carry the SAME parts and sometimes offer a better price. For instructions on how to replace a lid switch, click on the following link:

This is a simple and inexpensive repair if you wish to accomplish this on your own. Replacement parts for your washer will cost about $40 if you purchase both parts. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you require further assistance.

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Ultimate Care II toploading washer doesn't empty or spin after ag

Hello, I can help.

If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

Water not draining out w/ spin cycle

sounds like water may be going out but no spin in last cycle lean washer back and ck underneath for oil leak on top off transmission is a silver colored disk shaped object this is part of clutch if there appears to be a lot of oil on it good chance there is oil on clutch also causing it not yo spin..also ck to see if basket spins after short pause at end of rinse cycle ..start a rinse cycle at setting on timer with lid shut allow to run undisturbed ..once agitation stops in rinse timer should stop then start motor back up to drain ..there should be another short pause then washer should start spinning if does not pause suspect suspect timer if it does pause but doesn't start spinning suspect transmission..remember allow washer to advance by itself DO NOT RAISE LID TO CK..a small load of clothes will let you know if washer has spun

Washer won't start spin cycle

sounds like a lid assy issue, can you hear a "clicking" just before the lid is closed, try opening nad closing a few times listening for a distinct "click" if not the machine doesnt think the door is closed and for safety reasons wont spin and drain.
