Mac drivers for 750z

Could someone please tell me if drivers are available for mac os 10 (panther) for the 750z. I've looked at the pentax website, and even downloaded a psd of the brochure! It mentions drivers for mac os 9 or higher. This may not include os 10. Also i have been told that you don't need drivers for macs older than os 10. Apparently there is an in-built driver for any image capture hardware. Is this true. I'm trying to decide between the 750z and a canon powershot s60. The pentax looks alot better to me and has better reviews, in general. I've only had a mac for a couple of months

Re: mac drivers for 750z

It works with the 'mass storage device' driver which comes standard with windows since win98, so if your operating system supports this generic driver, then it should work. When plugged in and turned on, it will create a virtual drive to allow file copying.

Re: mac drivers for 750z

Oh, there's no problem. I don't have an Optio 750z, but I do have an Optio 30 and it's older. Just tested with an iBook G4 that I just have installed Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.2 in. When the camera is attaced and turned on, iPhoto will open automatically and you have the option of import the images to your computer - you can also mark the "Delete images from the camera". The camera will also appear on the Finder desktop as a removable disc. So, seems to be no need for extra software.

Sounds like you damaged the card slot, this is not a home repair.

Memory card in camera says full but It's definitely empty, as I dragged and dropped the entire folder in the trash. I'm unable to take any more pics!!! What do I do to convince memory card...

I think that you're using a Mac: on this OS you have to empty the recycle bin when the memory card is plugged in, if this doesn't work, the simplest way is to format the card!

Been shooting with my Pentax *IST DL on “AUTO PICT” and “AF” for the last few weeks with no problem. (with and without the flash.) As of yesterday however, anything I shoot is coming out dark. Even with...

1. Clean the contacts on the camera body and lens where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. 2. Go into the menu and find "reset" to go back to the original factory default settings. 3. If you have a second lens, does the same problem occur?

Cannot find installation software for mac os 10.4.11

If your reason for wanting the software is to download pics, just get a card reader and download to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can view the pics or open them in iphoto.

Computer connecting to camera

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Pentax 750z - Movie Mode - Problem

FedEx just dropped off my 750z a few hours ago(!), so I have only had a short time to play around with it. I did try 1 quick video at 640/30fps, and I did not see anything like what you described (perhaps you could grab a jpeg frame from the vid and post it here so we could see?) My only thought is: What is the speed of the PC that you are playing the vid on? It has been my experince that the MotionJPG encoding that cameras use, while fast for capturing the video can be a dog when it comes to playback. I suggest you either try playing the video on a fast PC (if, in fact, yours is not), or try re-encoding the vid with a more efficient codec. (for that you'll need quicktime pro, or a similar program such as RAD Video Tools which is freeware)

This is normal for the 750z.. a friend of mine has the same problem. If you try to print straight from the camera, everything is too bright. My friend has to manually lower the brighness and raise the contrast on every picture.
