Tech Guys only:
Remove all cartridges, remove left side cover, disconnect IDS connectivity, take out IDS( Ink delivery system know as ISS). this unit contains two compartments left unit drives 0,1&2 cartridges and right unit drives 3,4&5 cartridges.. Remove both IDS driving motors, rotate manually & observe the driving shaft of the both units & find out which was hard. Each unit contains three individual compartments & fixed together. Some cases these compartments are lost their alignment while transport or usage results 20.X.XX error will appears. To shoot out this problem, adjust aliment carefully verify shaft smoothness & apply grease. Fix motors back check once again fix entire things.. It will solve you problem..
The reason behind error is if any one of the shaft having hard movement, motor crying to rotate the shaft result time mismatch between both units. Understand the issue.. think,, and do... best of luck..

How to install New firm ware in new hard disk printer hp designjet T1100Ps

When you installed the new hard drive, was it purchased from HP as the hard drive for the T1100ps, or did you install a generic hard drive like for a laptop?

HP uses a special formatting on their hard drive with its own operating system with the latest firmware already installed (not windows o/s), so just installing new firmware will not work...the plotter must be on and in a ready state to receive the firmware update.

The exclamation mark means that the magenta printhead is already low in ink or have encounter a problem. Try removing and reinstalling the magenta printhead, if that didn't work, you will need to get a replacement for your magenta printhead since it could be low in ink.

Error indicates Formatter,Hard disc & main PCA any one of them faulty.. Through light pattern we can estimate which part is faulty...Read carefully, understand the indications..
Led pattern: Power supply LED as 1
Formatter leds 3nos from left to right as 2,3 & 4..

* indicates "on"
# indicates "off"
& indicates "flashing"

* # # # ....Main PCA
* * # # ....Formatter
* $ # # ....Hard disc
* * * $ .....Main PCA or Formatter
Note down which LED are on.off & flashing,compare with above said indications find out the faulty part..

You have a possible 'formatter' problem.
No communication between the Front Panel and the Main board is the description.
Try switching the power OFF from the back of the printer and unplug the power cord.
Plug the cord back in and power up.
If the error persists, you are going to have to get a tech to look at it.

Recommended for tec guys only:Error indication that service station error, open right cover check is there any obstacles in service station movement?.. check the service station connectors, if feel every thing is fine, remove service station, found dirty? remove motors, remove service station cover, clean entire unit with water, ensure that stocked ink entire should washed out, allow service station to dry, fix it up, apply grease for moving parts, fix entire back then try....for confirmation do the service test..** cleaning service station is dirty work but it will give good mileage, while cleaning take care of sucking tubes & drop detector unit.. Best of luck..

I had this code recently, and solved it cleaning the contacts pins in the formatter whit 2000 sand paper (could be pencil rubber) and reseating it.

The HP DesignJet T1100ps printer has a 79:04 error code. What kind of error is this and how can I solve this problem? please, help ! !

hp will never tell you but this error is a kind of a catch all error basically the service manual says to reload the firmware. check the file you are sending. i have seen a bad file cause this error. hope this helps.
